"Let's just forget about the treasure. Severin's too strong for any of us!" Severin spotted a familiar face among the crowd. It was Tobias, who had fled earlier. A smile appeared on his lips as he said, "Hey, hey! Fancy meeting you again!" Tobias, who was surrounded by a dozen members of the Steeles, paled at Severin's arrival. The memory of their clash for the Fire Phoenix Snow Lotus sent shivers down his spine. He managed a strained smile as he said, "What a coincidence."

“Dell, calm down.” “What the hell is going on out here?” Tobias asks as Ronin catches his mate before he can morph into his wolf. Instead, he starts yelling at the top of his lungs. “Where is my daughter…. What has your son done to my daughter!” Just as fast as his anger had come it dissipates as he falls in his mate’s arms, silent tears running down his face. Turning, he buries his face in Ronin’s chest. A flabbergasted Tobias steps outside. His mate, right behind him.

One Hunter and two wolves.” I nod my head “Let me know when you interrogate them, have Tobias link me.” I tell him. Tobias and I can link because we both belong to Riocht. Tobias is still a part of the Kodiak Kingdom and can still link with their members, the same as I can link with pack members of MacTire. “Okay,” Xander tells me and lets go of my arm. “Give Finn some time,” I look between the two bear shifters “He needs to sort through his own mess in his head before he can see reason.”

Since Dad had passed his title to me, his aura wasn’t as strong as it had been. “You did always think you were better than me,” Tobias smirked. “You and Damien, and his abomination of a mate,” he spat. “Mated to a witch,” he grumbled, glaring at the ground. “Disgusting. Wolves should only be mated to wolves. That is the way it should be,” he snarled, looking back up towards my dad. “Funny you should say that,” my dad said, cocking his head to the side. Tobias growled, but before my dad could continue, Tobias’s eyes glazed over for a moment, then his head whipped towards the trees, his eyes widening.

"What? Toby is dead? He was killed by Chase?" Cielo sighed deeply. "So, Chase has returned! Just now, the people I sent out brought back news that Toby was slain, most likely by Chase, who caused chaos at the Webers. That beast is truly worthless!" Toward the end, he started cursing angrily. "We should immediately send experts to hunt down Chase and avenge Toby!" Hoss Hawkins, the manager of the second branch of the Hawkins family, gritted his teeth as his eyes flashed with venomous cold light.

“You watched me like you were trying to solve a puzzle.” The voice came from beside her at the bar. Low, with a rough texture that slid over her skin like raw silk. She turned. Tobi stood there, now in low-slung jeans and a simple black t-shirt that did nothing to hide the physique she’d just seen on display. Up close, he was even more devastating. A day’s stubble shadowed a strong jaw. His lips were full. And those eyes… they were studying her with an intelligence that stripped away the last of her defenses.

Toby felt a surge of rage so pure it nearly blinded him. He wanted to run across the clearing, smash through the glass, and tear Laredo apart with his bare hands. But he knew he couldn't. Laredo was bigger, stronger, and he was on his own turf. Toby had to be smart. He had to be the "undertow" Laredo had joked about at dinner.
