He shifted fully into his minotaur form, hooves slamming into the ground. The earth trembled beneath us. Rhydan’s scales rippled across his skin, heat radiating off him in visible waves. “This is your last warning,” I said.

The beast leapt. Time fractured. I saw every detail in horrifying clarity: yellowed fangs, glowing red eyes, muscles rippling under scarred, chemically-enhanced hide. The corporate hound was bigger than any natural Echo, twisted by their experiments into something monstrous. Kael was frozen mid-step, eyes black with the failsafe, his body betraying him at the worst possible second.

I howl repeatedly, and I bet even the heavens have sighed in defeat. "And don't think of doing anything stupid. By the time you pull that trigger, I will have fed this damn thing two bullets already. Let's see if your weakling whore will bear it in her conscience." The monster howls in victory. At this point, Deep has no option than to surrender. He drops his gun to the floor, and the monster discharges a triumphant loud annoying howl. "Good, boy!" He mocks, turning to me, but keeping an eye on Deep still. "Now come to me, baby!" Ho orders me in his monster-soothing tone. He has turned into a complete varmint.

I shifted fully, my body growing to almost the same size as the beast. I blocked Isla's attack, my claws meeting hers in mid-air. The impact was immense, but I held firm. I roared loud, tearing the air and sending the beast falling back. My eyes glowed bright red, a fierce determination burning within me. President Ryder smiled, a glint in his eye. "Finally," he said, "now it's time to end this." The air was charged with tension as we prepared to face the beast. I knew it wouldn't be an easy battle, but I was ready. I would protect the school, no matter the cost. The beast's eyes locked onto us, its gaze fierce and unyielding.
