The beast was unleashed. In the dimly lit parking lot, Alex, now fully transformed, stood amidst a sea of parked cars. His massive frame was covered in thick fur, and his eyes burned with a wild intensity. His breaths were heavy, each exhale a growl. He could still hear the screams of his comrades in his head, but now they were joined by the frantic beating of his own heart. He felt the overwhelming urge to destroy, to tear apart anything in his path. Eventually, the rage began to subside. The beast, exhausted by its own fury, started to retreat. Alex’s breaths grew steadier, his vision clearer. Slowly, painfully.

"It’s not in his right mind!" I ignored him. I walked right up to the beast. It was towering over me, a creature of pure, unadulterated power. It growled, a low, guttural sound that vibrated in my very bones. I reached out, my blood-stained hand trembling, and touched the fur on its chest. "It's over," I said, my voice steady despite the fear that was clawing at my throat. "You're home, Cassius." The beast froze. The crimson glow in its eyes flickered, then dimmed, shifting back toward a more human shade of brown. It let out a long, shuddering breath, and the claws began to retract, the bone-snapping process of the reverse transformation starting.

By the time he finally pulled, I couldn't breathe properly, his lips were swollen, his eyes boring into that of mine like the beast he is, then a slow smirk curved his mouth. “Your voice…” he murmured, thumb brushing my lower lip. “I love hearing it. I wonder how your moaning will sound in my ear.” I jerked my face away, cheeks burning. “Stop… it.” But it felt like that irritated him, he yanked me back against him, voice dropping to a whisper. “I am not a monster,” he said. “I am a beast.” That was when I realized those eyes weren’t Knight’s, so it was his beast all along.
