Another blow caught his jaw, snapping his head to the side. Through the haze of pain and exhaustion, he heard a voice. Calm. Measured. Familiar. "That's enough." The hands released him. The kicks stopped. The tunnel fell silent except for the ragged sound of his own breathing. Lennox stepped into the circle of light cast by a dozen flashlights. He was tall, broad-shouldered, with a face that could have been carved from marble. Cold eyes the color of winter ice swept across the carnage — across the bodies of his fallen men, across the blood-soaked wreckage, across Zeus's broken form on the ground.

Because why would Roman Lennox, CEO of Lennox Global Logistics, actually be here? But he was. “My employee informed me you requested my presence,” he said, his tone measured and almost bored, like this was just another checkbox on his to-do list. His posture was immaculate, hands tucked casually into his pockets, exuding an air of effortless power that made me feel woefully underdressed in my leggings and oversized hoodie. Anthony, looking like he was about to pass out, stammered, “Miss Lyra, this is Mr. Roman Lennox, the CEO of Lennox Global Logistics.” He practically shoved the flowers and basket toward me, but Roman intercepted them, holding them out himself.

And if there was one thing I hated, it was traitors. "What kind of leader would I be if I just let them off?" I asked, beginning to crack my knuckles. "I guess Lennox didn’t soften you as much as I thought." Christian chuckled. "I’m glad to see that the ruthless and cold Alpha I know and love still exists." "Of course he does, dumb ass." I huffed, "My kindness is only intended for Lennox for this entire lifetime." "What about the pups?" Christian countered with amusement. "Is it not meant for them too?"

I giggle as the words leave my lips. Lenox has been watching far too many Transformers movies lately, and his love for the Autobots leader is a little disturbing. It shows, especially every time we bring up the idea of baby names. "Shit," he hisses under his breath and sighs in defeat. "Worth the try. Anyway, why aren't you ready yet? Lazarus and Luka are acting like idiots downstairs, arguing about which one of us is late to meetings more often. Oh, I snatched some cookies from the kitchen. Want to see where I hid them?" Lenox lifts his face from my neck and meets my gaze in the mirror, wiggling his eyebrows.

“Optimus Prime Ophelia Megatron Vincent? This is a cruel joke, right? Son, she’s going to kill you.” Lenox bursts out laughing while Seth and I look at him as if he has lost his mind. Again. Once he manages to stop the fit, he wipes the tears and adds, "I was thinking about adding Spoon, but I didn't, so be grateful. Here," he places a few more copies on the table. "Give these to the rest of the dads so they can see that the badass name is real," Lenox winks at his mother and hops away like the Easter bunny. What the fuck?

Lennox shouted, his eyes full of hate and fury. However, none of the apprentices or elders listened. The loyal elder barked, "Hold him down!" The apprentices yanked Lennox's arms and legs apart into a spread-eagle position. Then, the elder stepped forward, his expression cold, and slammed his palm onto Lennox's energy core, shattering it.

Lennox sat up and cleared his throat. “Victor… I didn't know you were there.” “I apologize for my intrusion on your conversation, but Len, why did you lead me to believe you were just like the other Alphas? I could have helped you!” Lennox stared at Victor for a moment before a small smile formed on his lips. “Len?” Lennox questioned. “Oh, I'm sorry–” “It's okay. I like it,” Lennox cut the alpha off with the wave of his hand. Victor returned Lennox's smile and stepped into the room. “ I suppose Art is rubbing off on me.” Victor chuckled as he grabbed a chair and pulled it to where he could see Lennox properly while talking to him.

Kaelen’s POV Lennox’s voice broke. He wasn’t speaking as a warrior. He wasn’t speaking as my Beta. He was begging. I looked at him. His hands were gripping my arms tightly, his eyes wide with fear. Not fear for himself—but for me. The whirlpool behind me roared like a living monster. I slowly shook my head. “I’m sorry, Lennox,” my voice was steady, even though my chest felt like it was being crushed. “But I have to do this.”

' The guards he was talking to didn't move an inch, and I glanced at them to see their eyes darting at each other. One of them then spoke up with an uncertain tone. “We're under orders from elder Lennox himself. We can’t....” “I said, unhand them.” Scott’s voice rose slightly as he cut him shut, his authority was undeniable. “Can't you see Lennox dumbly on stand with his mouth too big enough to 'hi' me? Or do you wish to explain to him why you disobeyed a direct order from me when he is nothing than an ant before me?”
