From the shadows behind Elena, two figures emerged. They were "Perfected Shields." They looked like Nevan, but their skin was a seamless, metallic silver, and their eyes were the cold, radiant gold of the Harvester. They didn't have souls; they had protocols. They were the "Alpha-Prime" units—the versions of Nevan that Elena had always wanted to build. "Kill the Shield," Elena commanded. "Retrieve the Heir. The Mother will be integrated." The two Alphas lunged.

Just like Orbin, he weighed nearly seven hundred pounds, but luckily Skyler was much bigger and stronger than Bessy so that helped. The ground was only just a couple of hundreds of meters below now and no one who might be harmed was around. "They call it the Primer," Jinx said, tracing the scar with a trembling finger. "It’s the first step. They inject you with a diluted void serum. If your body rejects it, you die screaming. If you survive... you move to Phase Two."

His dark hair was down now to frame his square jaw, and he was wearing some kind of black fur cloak—although he was still shirtless beneath it, displaying those chiseled pecs and that strange tattoo in the center of his chest. Damn, I thought. He was born into the wrong world; could have been a successful model back home. “I don’t believe you,” he finally grunted. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. “You can look me up online,” I said, growing a bit desperate. “Like I said, I’m a model and entrepreneur. I’m not a spy or whatever you seem to think I am.” The prince of the Lycans was silent for several long moments. Those blue eyes raked over me, studying me, appraising me.

A new voice, deeper, colder than any we’d heard before, came up the stairwell. “Primary Alpha target detected. Termination protocol authorized.” Then it stepped into view. One single enhanced wolf. But this one was different. It was taller, looked heavier, and carried a lot of scars on its body like it had survived a hundred battles. But I was pretty sure that those scars were just design protocol. No way this thing had been fighting for that long. Its golden eyes burned almost white. It looked straight at me and smiled with too many teeth. “Hello, Kade. I am Unit Prime. And I was created to kill you.”

59:59. "He's going to do it," the Child-Arthur whispered, his velvet coat turning grey under the shadow of the weapon above. "The Architect Prime doesn't see people. He sees Overhead. And right now, the Noise-Sector is a debt he intends to write off." The refugees in the warehouse were no longer shouting; they were paralyzed by the sight of the sky turning into a weapon. Meilin stood on the ruins of the engine block, her Sovereign-Iron staff glowing with a frantic, jagged violet light.

Skyline screamed. “ Please stand. We don’t want to hurt you.” Warrior Sam said to Skyline. This was their Luna for a long time they don’t want to have to use force on her. Skyline doesn’t care. She starts screaming. “ Who do you think you are to talk to me like that? I am Luna of this pack. I give the orders.” she screams. Damn she is giving me a headache. “ Silence.” I growl. That shut her up. “ Now you will stand up and go with these kind warriors who are only trying to do their job.” I said. Skyline did as I said.

Aria breathed in relief then gasped in disbelief as Prime Johansson suddenly burst into flames that raged out getting bigger and bigger then gutted out to reveal a might red dragon, that stretched its wings and beat the air, lifting off with great effort into the sky and letting out a mighty roar. "Bloody hell!" Kahlia exclaimed. "It never gets any less amazing to witness." Abram said, folding his arms with a proud smile. Next was Prime Evans who transformed with a tornado of inky blackness to reveal a huge black dragon that pierced the night with its sub-sonic screech as it lifted into the air and joined the fire dragon in its hovering.

Scarlett said, nodding toward the training grounds where the cyber-Lycan warriors were already boarding the transport bays. As the Ark began its massive, sub-space jump toward the North Pole, Scarlett felt a chill that had nothing to do with the arctic air. In the depths of the Stellar Navigator, a new file had just decrypted. "Project Chimera: Final Objective—The Resurrection of the Prime Architect." Scarlett’s heart hammered. Xuan was gone, and the High Scientist was a prisoner. But if there was a "Prime Architect" still waiting in the Silent Gears, then the experiment was far from over.
