I watch as he turns away from the scene, walking down the street, his shoulders slumped, his whole world shattered.
The scene fades, shifting into darkness, but the guilt stays. I’ve destroyed everything. I’ve destroyed him, and there’s nothing I can do to fix it.
I’m trapped in my own mind, stuck in this endless loop of regret and guilt, forced to relive the worst moments of my life over and over again. I try to claw my way out, to wake up, to escape, but it’s no use.
I’m stuck.
And I deserve it.
I wake up with a start, my heart racing, my breath coming in short, ragged gasps. The room around me is dim, the light from the early morning barely filtering through the curtains.
