The next door love
“For being here. For standing up for me. For not making things harder.”
He looked at me gently. “I’d do it all again.”
I hesitated, then said, “Can you stay for a bit?”
His eyes softened. “Of course.”
We sat on my bed, talking about nothing and everything—childhood stories, embarrassing moments, dreams we hadn’t said out loud before.
“I wanted to travel,” I admitted. “I still do.”
“Where?” he asked.
“Anywhere,” I said. “Somewhere I can just… be.”
He smiled. “I’d like to see the world with you.”
