That I was unstable, vindictive, and selfish. They twisted my story into something unrecognizable. They combed through my social media posts from years ago, dragged up old therapy notes I had confided in with trust, even tried to imply that my choice to let Tristan back in for those two brief meetings was somehow proof that I was confused, inconsistent, unfit.

I declared. "Is the scene necessary?" Jake finally spoke. "Oh, look who decided to talk at last." I mocked. "Your barbaric behaviour never ceases to agitate me." He huffed. "And how do you call a person who basks in the suffering of others? He's called a narcissist. That's who you are, Jake William.
