[Thad’s POV] I don’t speak as Trudy buries her face in my chest, breathing me in while she does a damn good job of pretending that she was actually happy to see me. However, I know better than to fall for her tricks this time. And because of that, I reach down, grabbing her arms and pulling them off of me, then stepping back and wrapping an arm around Brielle. As I do so, Trudy’s gaze drifts to my arm and then back up to my face while a look of questioning crosses it.

And I truly understand his situation. On the outside, Trudy can be seen as very outgoing. Very flirty, and very used to socializing with other people, especially the ladies. We saw him grow up, believing that he had finally removed that woman from his system. But it turns out, she remained within him, and he carried her throughout every achievement that he has. All this time, I thought Trudy will eventually fall for somebody else. Hoping that he will find his end game one day, and I will finally see happiness and contentment in his eyes just like how they were every time that he looks at her.

His anger showed in the form of his eyes flashing from blue to obsidian and back. "What my sister is trying to say," the pale, red-head intervened with a charming grin and raised hands—for the life of me, I couldn't see how the two were related, "for hers, your packs, and your own safety, its safer for her not to be near battle when she's not prepared for it. For the love of the Goddess, I can see the fear in her eyes," he turned his gentle smile on me with an exuberant wave, "hi, I'm Sylvain. Tania is my mate."

We made our way further towards the trap when we heard a voice, it was a female voice and mind you it was the most beautiful voice I've heard, even in her scared state....she started blabbing about how she doesn't taste sweet or how the gods won't accept her flesh, the most funny one was her sayings no one will buy her organs as they won't work without her, she thought we were carnivores, she must have really been scared, my parents and sister fell into a fit of laughter but I just managed a smile, the soul must have been scared and I was the one

Trudy chided Nathan. “I’m sorry, Trudy,” he responded. “Trudy, this is Amelie Cavanaugh. Amelie, this is Trudy. Trudy has been with our family since I was a baby.” “I used to change his nappies, Amelie,” Trudy advised. “And boy, do I have stories I could tell you!” “I think we are going to be best friends, Trudy,” I smirked. “Oh great,” Nathan rolled his eyes. “Please let me know if you need anything. I’ll be here until 8 pm,” Trudy said as she headed for the door, closing it behind her as she left.

The sounds of snarls and growls filled the night as we circled each other, locked in a primal dance of dominance. Despite the intensity of the situation, a part of me couldn't help but feel sad. This was not the Trudy I knew, the kind and compassionate woman who had always been there for me. She was lost in her pain, consumed by her inner turmoil. Storm, suddenly spoke through our mind link, her voice tense with caution. ‘Arabella, Trudy's wolf is stronger than any we've encountered before.’ I knew Storm was correct. Trudy's attacks were relentless, her strength remarkable. ‘She was trained by an elder,’ I responded, my focus dialed in on the fight. ‘She can withstand a great deal of pain. M

“We’re here.” Olga looked at the wilderness surrounding them and scowled. “Just what is here?” “I told you that it’s hidden,” Trudy replied. “Is it going to show itself?” Rex asked while the rest of his people mumbled in low tones. “Patience,” Trudy said with a smug grin. Pulling a small crystal wand from a sheath that was tucked into her waist, she made a symbol in the air. The group’s gasps were abundant as the air got wavy and their surroundings shifted from lush wilderness to large, well-kept community.

Kimi replied by looking at Trudy who had been keeping her eyes down. Then it made me both surprised and suspicious, "why didn't Trudy go into hiding?" I glanced at the middle-aged woman. The maid whose full name is Trudy Lilyana answered my question without looking at the person she was talking to, “I didn't have time to hide, miss. Because when I heard the roar, I immediately saw the situation outside.” Before Trudy had finished explaining the reason, Kimi had interrupted the waiter's words quickly. “That's because you are a descendant of one of the nations. You are no ordinary human.”

Eric sighed after trying again for the ninth time. He simply just wanted to tell her his exciting news. It wasn't even exciting anymore since he could not share any news with her. It wouldn't feel the same with anyone else. Knowing Laura blocked him and so did Sam... there was only one person he could reach out to... Tristan. Tristan was not picking up either. Was this the wrong timing? Eric was pretty sure that it was still early in the US. Early enough to make a phone call. Fabiola was getting annoyed with her uncle not moving. She wanted to go home and show her parents all the toys and sweets, Uncle Eric had bought.
