CHAPTER 123 ~3RD PERSON’S POV~ Steven sat in his office, flipping through the pages of his grandfather’s book. He read through everything again and again, trying to find a loophole or a way they could stop the Half of darkness without harming Gabriella. He finally made it to the missing page. He stared at the page for a moment, then flipped past it and through the empty pages until he was at the end of the book. He examined the last page for a moment and noticed a brown stain at the top left corner of the page. He brought it closer to his eyes to see what it was, and he accidentally took a whiff of the page’s scent.

I leaned closer. Reading more carefully now. Trying to understand every word. Every line. Every meaning. And then— My hand stilled. Because halfway down the page— It stopped. Not naturally. Not cleanly. Torn. The page had been ripped out. The rest of the spell— Gone. My chest tightened sharply. “No…” I flipped the page. Hoping. Expecting. But the next page— Was different. Not instructions. Not a continuation. Just a single line. Written boldly.

The last page. Blank except for one line. In fresh ink. Black. Still wet at the edges. You forgot to write the ending. She stared at the sentence. The ink gleamed. She touched it. Wet. Real. She stood. Called Ethan's name. He answered from downstairs. Footsteps quick on the stairs. He appeared in the doorway. Saw her face. Crossed the room in three strides. "What happened?" She held out the pages. He read them silently. When he reached the last line his jaw tightened.

Tanencha wasn’t ready to work, the project just needed more time to perfect. “I’m sorry Alveera,” I whispered and turned my head to the side as one teardrop ran down my face. I didn't know what she's up to but I believe she's absolutely a weird one. Well, before I turned the page, I made sure she finished reading her part. I was the one whos's turning the pages of each book, and her job was to read the right page and mine was the left one because you know that already, she couldn't touch things. "Are you done?"
