How many times he let me down. I shook my head, meeting her soft, worried eyes. "Please... don't tell anyone. I'm leaving." My eyes landed on the last page. Page 99. Three years. Ninety-nine chances. That was it. I was done waiting.

Tremont found that the diary seemed to be missing a lot of pages, but then again his mother had been unstable, it was not too weird if his mother had torn some of the sheets. The last page caught at his eyes, his mother's final wish was clearly written down.

I sat down on my seat, waiting even if I knew I'd had to wait way longer than just some minutes. All of a sudden all I saw was black, I didn't know everything could be over in just seconds, I wouldn't have thought that everything could be over this quick, but one thing I knew was, I couldn't give up, I have to be there for Kehna. I tried recovering strength by breathing in and breathing out but it didn't help. I continued repeating the same sentence "I can't give up" breath in breath out "I can't give up" breath in breath out, I just wanted to rest and close my eyes for some seconds.

My heart stopped in its tracks as soon as I saw the date Imogen had written on it. I flipped to the previous page before the last page, where she wrote. The page had a date. I flipped back again; there was a date. I checked more pages to see if they all had a date, just like the last page. The date was clearly written on each of those pages. On the last page, she wrote the date, and that date was the date of the night she died.

A boy’s voice is tinged with disdain as he speaks in a low whisper. Ignoring the sting of the words, I move to the next shelf, determined to finish my task. I run my fingers along the spines of the books, feeling the textured wear of countless hands that have held them before. I place another card in front of an ancient copy of Turned By Moonlight, the pristine white of the new card stark against the yellowed pages.

One in particular caught her eye. Legends of the End Times. She raised an eyebrow. Okay. A little on the nose. Still, curiosity won. She pulled it from the shelf. The book snapped open as if it had been waiting for her, pages rattling violently in a still, stagnant air. Far too violently. Most were gone. Torn out. The remaining edges were clean, deliberate — like someone had chosen exactly what to leave behind. Only one page remained. Scrawled across it in uneven handwriting that wasn’t printed:

She’d thrown everything she had into this last round for this exact moment. She lifted her hand and revealed the final die—five. Twenty-nine points in total. “I won! I knew it! There’s no way you can roll five sixes again!” Before she even finished the sentence, I lifted my own cup. Five dice were perfectly lined up, all of them sixes. “Sorry, cousin. Looks like I’m still just a little better than you.” Taylor’s smile cracked. Her legs gave out, and she collapsed into her chair like her bones had been removed.

When he saw the last night, he found that the last page had been torn off. "Master, why isn't there the last page?" Christiano looked at the old man with a hint of anxiety in his eyes. It could be seen how much he cared about the contents of the last story. "There was no more page when I got it." As soon as he finished speaking, Christiano collapsed on the stool.
