I screeched. “That is the eye of a Newt.” I looked at her as if she had sprouted an extra head and frankly, I shouldn’t be surprised if she actually did that. “Relax, man. You should know that it is an illusion and not an actual eye. I thought it would be fun to have an eyeball in a witch’s home like the ‘eye of a Newt.” Fun?! “You are no fun! Party pooper!” Glenda complained before waving her hand again, and the freaky test tubes and vials vanished from the shelves to be replaced by vases and flowers.

There was a book and a pen on the coffee table, though, which was something. Crystal leaned over, picked it up, and was disappointed to discover that it wasn't a diary or journal. The title on the book's jacket read: Howard's Amazing Adventure- and according to the back cover, the book told the story of an alien rabbit that had accidentally broken into the earth. Crystal picked up the book, turned a few pages randomly, and finally put it down indifferently.

My blood froze in my veins as death itself stared at me. The colossal tentacles twitched again, and one seal on the window broke. Water ran down the inside of the glass, pooling in puddles on the floor of the bar. No no no. The eye moved closer, the suckers contracted. A few more seals broke. Seawater splashed into the bookstore and bar, cascading down the window. My rabbit slippers were sinking. One more squeeze and the water will gush freely, quickly filling my house.

A single search appeared before him, and it showed the words, 'Bionic eyes'. Ben searched for the book and found it in a place where people didn't often take books from, the shelf and the books in it were very old. Ben found the book that he looked for, it was a book with very few pages. The title of the book was 'Eyes of gold' and the author's name was Franklin Gold, Ben thought it was a children's storybook after seeing the title of the book as it was written very childishly.

A piece of something fell off, and taking a closer look revealed it to be a tortoiseshell. It had a round hole on it, and a red string was strung through it. Grant had been wearing it previously. Alex picked up the tortoiseshell and asked, “Is this… The Holy Book?”

I wandered through the aisles, running my fingers along the spines, feeling a sense of belonging I hadn't felt in a long time. I spent the whole day there, completely lost among the books, reading story after story until I lost track of time. One book caught my attention "The Adventures of Sir Flufftail" a ridiculous but absolutely hilarious story about a brave and very dramatic rabbit knight who went on quests to save stolen carrot cakes from mischievous squirrels.

All manner of weird items such as wands, amulets, funny little dolls, jars of unidentifiable items and even skulls of very weird animals which Tara couldn't tell if they were real or not. The whole place was freaking her out and rain or not she decided to leave. But as she passed the last shelf before the door a book caught her eye. It big gold letters on the plain black leather cover was the title 'Sex Rituals in Black Magick'. She giggled quietly maybe it was just a strange porn shop after all. Still her curiosity had been awakened so she picked the book up.

She told me they’d be staying here for a little while, that they needed some place safe to go. I hadn’t cared about the woman that shared Violet’s soft features and pale hair, or about the noisy twins that chattered and roamed around the foyer touching everything. It was the little girl with big, glassy eyes and hair as pale as moonlight that I couldn’t stop looking at. In her hands was a book, and even after all this time I still remembered the title.

The old pages flipped to the back of the book. When it stopped, I gazed at the pictures. On the left page sat the changeling in its true form, and on the facing page were pictures of a wasp, an elephant, a beautiful woman, and a small puppy. The one telltale feature was the eyes - in all its forms, it retained the cat's yellow eyes. "What did it say to you?" Salvatore asked. "Hmm." I paused, scared. "He seemed to be talking to someone else and stated that I had magic." I shrugged, peering into Salvatore's keen eyes. They were dark chocolate in color.
