Turtles All The Way Down Book の小説・ストーリー

The day and a half spent traveling at a steady speed through the tunnels seemed more like a year and a half to the small group. Each dealt with their own special demons in the dark. For Alice, it was the memory of running for her life. First from the cyborgs and, then, from her own people. For Felix, it was his time with Ari. For Arthur, it was concern about what happened back in Hopeville and how he, as the founding father, should address it once he returned.

"Don't worry about that yet, honey. All I care about now is for our kids to transform successfully." Hue smiled and pulled her body into a warm embrace. … At the Folklore World. Delton eyed the carcass of a giant green-back turtle plopped on the table. The family members of the turtle were outside of the room, crying. Servants, or precisely crabs with colourful pinchers, crawled all over the room where the dead turtle was. "When did you notice his absence?" he asked the crab that stood near his feet. The crab was the leader of the crabs that managed the turtle's household.

What happened just now was humiliating enough. Standing at the top of the mountain, Chu Xun looked back and saw those people falling to the ground from the sky. He smiled wickedly. He had always been keen on humiliating and attacking his enemies. The top of the mountain had ups and downs with countless mountain peaks. How long had this horrible old turtle lived? Its age might scare some people to death. As a turtle, naturally, it had a long life. Its back had become an island. He wondered how many islands in the sea were living creatures like the old turtle.

Various theories have the library being built there by aliens, by a civilization ten thousand years old, or by a race of vampires. Caitlin let the book fall from her lap, her mouth open in shock, and it landed with a thump on the floor. She sat straight up, feeling a jolt. She suddenly felt wide awake, as if she had just lost all sense of time and place. She picked the book up again, her throat dry, and read the words again and again, desperately, like a castaway starving for water.

I was always too worried to catch anyone's unwanted attention. My mother had paraded me around like a prized mare after the contract was signed. The revealing gowns and ostentatious regalia she insisted on during parties and festivities were nauseating. I turned back to the dishes working on a pot. “I’ve read that, have you read Watership Down,” I asked. He snorted. “Isn’t that the one about the bunnies,” he said with mild disgust. “Yes, but it may tickle your fancy. If you like books about politics, it's got a lot of political leadership philosophy .” I offered. He made another grimace as if the mere idea of a story about rabbits was absurd. 'Tickle your fancy? Really Bri? Get a grip girl.'

They had to become the Teachers of the Transition. She pulled out her tablet and began to draft the first "Manual for the Awakened World." It wouldn't be a medical textbook; it would be a survival guide for the soul. As the sun set over San Francisco, the sky didn't turn orange; it turned a deep, shimmering iridescent purple. The "Thinning" was accelerating. From the penthouse balcony, Xander watched a flock of birds fly through a "Resonance Pocket" and emerge on the other side as creatures made of living light.

ELLARIA. Tate fell asleep halfway through his second story. I kept reading anyway. I read all the way to the end of the chapter about the rabbit who wanted to be a dragon, because if I stopped, I'd have to get up, and if I got up, I'd have to think. When I finally closed the book, the room was quiet except for his breathing.

To me, the words on the blackboard looked like swimming tadpoles. My grades had plummeted. My pride had long since shattered. After wolfing down a full meal, my spirits lifted considerably. My steps were no longer unsteady. Even my mind felt clearer. After thanking Mr. Palmer, I turned to leave. He frowned. "Where are you going?" I held up the crumpled winning ticket. "To cash it in. Otherwise... no food." "Elena Marshall!" Mr. Palmer snapped in frustration. "Did you forget everything I just said that quickly?

’ thought Darryl optimistically. Just when he was about to leave, he noticed that one of the tiles on the floor is different from the rest. He knocked on it—clearly hollowed out. He lifted the tile, and to his surprise, he saw a brown paper wrapping around something. He uncovered the item and was shocked to find a secret manual. On the cover of the manual wrote: Ascension of the Nine Dragons. ‘F*ck, what book is this? The title sounds impressive’ thought Darryl.

I just finished reading the last book when I started to write Descent for real! The title when this was still a draft was actually ‘Can’t Help Falling (In Love With You)’ because I was listening to the same song only the dark version at the time. But I got annoyed because I felt it was too freaking long to be a title. For a time, I settled calling the story "Fall from Grace" in my head but it still felt wrong... so when I searched for a synonym, the meaning of the word descent.. clicked; it feels like it perfectly sums up the entire plot.
