I found myself staring at my own hand, my heart pounding relentlessly in my chest. I looked up at Asher and saw a small smile gracing his lips. Simultaneously, my whole body convulsed, my bones shifting and changing without ceremony. My teeth sharpened, and my vision became unnaturally acute. I could see colors I’d never seen before; the world was a kaleidoscope of hues. I looked at Asher, my eyes wide with fear and wonder. “I’m shifting,” I whispered, my voice filled with awe. “I’m really shifting.”

Breaking the silence, I said, "Thanks for helping me with this." "This won't be easy," Tony cautioned. "Nothing ever is," I remarked. Acknowledging the surroundings, Tony stopped, "Probably as good a place as any to stop." "Wait till nightfall, then shift?" I inquired. "We can shift whenever. A wolf night is about prolonged shifting and control. Usually done at night to utilize the moon, which we won't have," he explained. "So, we hold off till sunrise?" I sought clarification. "You'll likely exhaust yourself running until sleep takes over. But the idea is to hold out as long as you can," he clarified.

But I was not moving, I couldn’t if I wanted to. Pain began to pulse through my chest as I watched Valen’s eyes widen in shock and horror. I remove the cloth that covers the package, it is a very old book with a blood red cover and despite the years is still in good condition. I caress the cover of the book, on it we can read the pack of the twilight. "This is a very old book, the family tree of our pack. " I opened the book, my fingers shaking. I had been wanting to know everything about this community that piques my curiosity for so long, I couldn't believe it.
