“He’s braver than I thought.” I giggled, watching Mira glare at Milo with mock fury. “He’s doomed,” I whispered. When the sun began to set, Storm brought out a small box of sparklers. “Don’t ask how I got these,” he said. “Just light them.” Within moments, the lakeside glowed with streaks of gold and silver as we waved the sparklers through the air, laughter echoing around us. Mira traced shapes, hearts, moons, and something that suspiciously looked like a wolf howling. Milo accidentally burned his sleeve, cursing while she doubled over laughing.

It’s easy for her to just kill me and then run away or either stay and be with Kaiser. “So?…” Her brows knitted up, then she walked towards the door, and I heard the clicking of the bolt. “I think she wants to kill us” Sparkles said in a mocking tone, but I didn’t find that funny. Like, what’s funny with her killing us? “Oh Luna!” Her smile suddenly grew wide as her body began to stretch and expand; suddenly she shifted to a black, creepy monster with long canines and sharp claws. What the hell? “First of all, if you’re not a wolf then what creature are you?” Sparkles forced those words out of my mouth as I hit my forehead.

Sparks flew from the clash of our blades, bright and alive, and I felt the familiar thrill of a challenge. Kyan stumbled back, grinning despite himself. “Not bad, fire girl.” I smirked, tightening my grip. “Try harder.” We circled each other, blades ready, and then it happened. Sparks again, but this time, they were different. They swirled, catching the sunlight and bending it into a blue flame. I froze, my heart thundering. Twix’s voice cut across the clearing, calm but urgent. “Step back, both of you.” I dropped my blade and backed away. Kyan mirrored me, eyes wide. The blue flames grew taller, circling us in slow, hypnotic arcs, casting a strange frost along the grass.

Reflexively, Sarah's hand reached up to touch one of the lengthy scars on her face. Nate was aware that her coven had never taken well to the unwritten agreement between the magical beings of Elmwood. They were apprehensive near members of this other supernatural species because of previous experiences. Nate muttered, "I said, ignore them," and started along the broad sidewalk. She froze, though, just as she was about to turn away. One of the wolves had come into view for her. He was tall, handsome, and trim. He had the same tanned skin, dark hair, and bright green eyes as someone Nate had known in the past. His and hers met in the gaze. She was unable to turn away.

She played on the swing for a whole hour, took a walk and rested on the bench. It was around five when she decided it was time to head back. On the way, she came across Ichiya. “Do I know you? Then she showed me the one with us kissing, and it looked more dominant than when I saw it on the small screen of her phone. Sparks and light surrounded us in almost a halo effect. “I need these,” I said to her. “Of course, Oh and to answer your question, no it is not visible to the naked eye.” I nodded and took off with the photos in hand to show Galen.

Twilight had her claws and jaw stained with fresh blood, the blood of her victims laying now dead on the ground.
