Nicole. “Heidi…” my heart softened as I dropped to my knees beside her. “I’m gonna put them back, I promise. I just wanted mum to stay here for a while.” One of her drawings rested ont he table too, almost covered by mum’s scarf. I pulled it from under there. It wasn’t the best picture but I could tell it was two older women with a child in between them. One of the women’s hair was done with a yellow pencil while the other was black, the child had tiny dots around her head to imitate hair, but what they all had in common was the yellow circles hovering over their heads and the triangle wings.

Her perfectly serene doll-like look was ruined however by the tired scowl which decorates her face. Rubisviel Fyaril, the Orchid Butterfly Witch of the Dark Forest wipes the sweat from her brow and huffed after completing a drawing of a Cthulhu symbol inside her circle. Thick black bags hang under her tired golden eyes and her face was paler than usual. Her head hurts like a battle-ax was splitting it open and her shoulders and legs are aching after prolonged hours of sitting on the ground and focusing on drawing the symbols.

Tiara sits cross-legged on the floor, her eyes following Travis as he meticulously paints the final artwork on the nursery wall. His brush moves with slow, deliberate strokes, the colors blending seamlessly to create the tranquil image of a twilight sky. "Twilight?" she muses, tilting her head.

It looked so silly that I giggled again, covering my mouth too late. “Wanna see a new trick I learned?” his hands asked. I nodded so fast my hair bounced. New tricks were always the best. He bent closer and snapped his fingers, and sparks jumped out, popping and cracking like fireworks. Then they moved like little zigzags across the air before fading. I call him Sparky because every time he does that, my tummy feels like it’s fizzing too. “Pretty,” I signed to him, still in awe as he blew softly on the flame and it stretched into a glowing ribbon that curled through the air like a dragon’s tail.

He held his arm up, pointing to the sky above, and the pixies shot off his finger one by one, darting into the sky like stars above, but instead of diamond white, they filtered through pastel hues. They turned blush pink and lilac, swirling in the sky until they stopped and formed a pretty picture in the sky above the pack. It looked like a bouquet of flowers and I giggled, seeing them so productive together in this painting. The other wolves of True Mates all cheered and clapped, enjoying the dainty picture overhead. Oscar whistled and they came back down, spreading little drops of dust on the entire pack like bees drop pollen when they fly off the head of a flower. It was incredible to see

Then it burst apart into thousands of tiny pieces and drifted down over the Twilight Fey. It was a lovely bit of magic, and the Fey seemed to take it as a good omen; cheering and clapping even louder. Hooves stamped the stone floor and howls lifted from wild throats, but I only smiled vaguely as I stared pensively at the sparks that drifted down like snowflakes.

Then taking a brave breath, reached out and began drawing something invisible on his palm. There was a jerk in his skin which made her flutter backward with a start. His fingers curled down a bit. The amber eyes above lowered and flicked away from her with a look that almost appeared ashamed, "Sorry...that tickles. I- I didn't mean to frighten you." "N-no. It-it's ok." she nervously assured him. He opened his hand again. She came close and resumed her symbol drawing on his palm. Kendrick tipped his head curiously whilst trying to resist the urge to flinch again from the tickling sensation. When she finished 'drawing', Twillow's skin glowed brighter for a moment.

I could not look them in the eyes. The professor's voice sounded above my head. "I am curious what kind of emotion drive you to draw this beautiful scene." There was a hint of teasing in her voice. I could not help but look up. That's when I noticed the drawing I made. There were sketches of dandelions scattered around, big and small, acting as a background. Like fallen leaves in spring, they were swayed by the breeze, creating such a lovely scene. Amidst the fallen dandelions, was a man and a woman kissing together. Above them was the shining stars and moonlight.
