They retired shortly after, though Wren found sleep elusive again, old instinct keeping her half-alert even in the relative safety of Kade's quarters. Near midnight, a soft sound from the twins' room pulled her fully awake, and she found Idris sitting up in bed, his small face troubled in the dim light.
"Bad dream?" she asked softly, settling beside him.
"I dreamed someone was trying to take us away again," he admitted, voice small. "Like before we came here."
