Thankfully, it did not hurt anymore. …… Ever since I was little, my grandma always told me, "There’s no one better than a mother." But I always felt like she was lying to me. When I was eight, my mom took forever to come pick me up. When we finally got home, I saw her comforting Gwen Lincoln, my twin sister. We looked almost identical, except I had an extra mole beneath my left eye. "Mom, who is she?" "She’s Kate, your sister from the countryside." Their dissatisfied questioning and cold response left me with a sense of unease.

That was how they gained the interest of the wolves and soon, they learnt the animal language and their ways. A month passed, the twins were now eleven years old. They've learnt many things about the wolves, how they hunt, communicate with themselves and many other things but they still were not satisfied with that because Taiwo wanted to become the alpha and Keyinde the beta after which they plan to become the king and queen of the jungle. Both of them sat together on a tree branch not far from the wolves' den one evening, watching the alpha as controlled his subjects. Keyinde: I know what you're thinking the way you watch the alpha. You want to become the alpha.

Scott let out a sigh of relief, saying something about how there were people he knew at my regular hospital, and insisted on having me transferred. Only after confirming I was fine did he calm down. "Honey, you're carrying twins—you really have to be careful. Don't go out alone next time." His concern was so earnest that even the doctor nearby remarked, "Your husband's really good to you." "Of course he is. I married him and am carrying his progeny—if he doesn't treat me right, that'll be ungrateful of him, won't it?" The doctor's face turned awkward, and Scott's expression darkened again.

Now, seeing the fruits of all those years of effort, I couldn't be prouder. "Mom, we owe it all to you for raising us so tirelessly all these years…" "Yeah, Mom. Without your patient guidance, we'd never have made it this far…" The twins had always been filial and considerate. They knew how much I had sacrificed for them, and often promised that once they graduated and found good jobs, they would ensure I lived out my old age in comfort. Their words filled me with warmth. And then I remembered—two days from now would be their birthday.

And still… here I was. Drawn to them. Again. Against reason. Against vengeance. Against the oath I had sworn over my parents’ graves. I stopped at the edge of the clearing, my breath catching when I saw them waiting. The Ligaya twins. Two figures framed by the pale wash of moonlight, shoulders squared, wolves bristling beneath their skin. They looked like shadows carved out of the night itself…dangerous, unyielding, every inch of them a reminder of what I had sworn to destroy.

_Author’s POV_ The next morning, Astrid woke up to find both twins acting extremely suspicious. They kept whispering to each other when they thought she wasn’t looking, and Gideon kept showing up at odd times with papers for them to sign. “What are you two planning?” she asked over breakfast. “Nothing,” they said in unison, which was definitely a lie. “We’re just handling pack business,” Zade added. “Very important pack business,” Zarek confirmed.

“You’re up.” I walked onto the stage under the blazing lights. The heat hit me instantly, making my skin prickle. Epstein leaned forward in his chair, eyes gleaming with pure financial greed and twisted excitement. Dude’s a psycho! “Well, well… Mr. Triple Threat himself,” he said with a sick smile. “I’ve been waiting for you. Partners for Mr. Kane — the Jackson twins, Sophia and Selena.” Two identical women stepped onto the stage. Long dark hair, athletic bodies, sharp green eyes, and matching wicked smiles. They were known in the extreme scene as the “Twin Terrors” — beautiful, insatiable, and famous for destroying men.

I didn’t want to deny that I was head over heels in love with him, both of them with their contrasting characters which brings me to the question of what happened to them to separate brothers…twins even. I was still pondering on it when my phone pinged indicating I had a message.I would likely have ignored it but taking into consideration that I had nothing to do and was practically lazing about I checked my phone and saw a message from an unknown number. I opened the message and read “We should meet up at a location” my eyebrows quirked up as I typed back, I wasn’t about to ignore the message with all the shitty stuffs happening to me, I needed answers. “Who’s this?” the message showed that
