Unhinged Book Door Novels & Stories

I couldn’t be more stunned to see it disappear right into the book with no trace of his blood on it before he puts his hand down. The sound of a door creaking catches my attention, and at the same time, there is Garrett who moves back. I suddenly see the supposed shelf folding together as the creaking sound continues. Eventually, the shelf of books has been put aside to reveal a sort of door which had a polished color. I was amazed by the quality of the door which has a lot of inscriptions on it, making me wonder how much work was put into it to make it work. “There goes the second barrier. I have no idea how to crack the code and that is where you come in,” Garrett catches my attention with

2 FAM. My gaze automatically shifted to the bookshelves inside the room and my eyes widened in realization. "I got it" I said and find the 131.2 FAM book on the shelves. I know that numbers and letters. That's the format when finding a book in the library. My forehead creased when I face a brown old book after following the 131.2 FAM. I reach it and was about to pulled it out when suddenly something click and then the shelves move. I step back and I come to realization upon seeing a single door entrance. It is a secret door hidden behind the shelves. I open it carefully and I gasp when an outline map greeted me.

I smiled and decided to stand up to go to his bookshelf and pick a book to read. While I was choosing a book, I couldn't help but look at an unusual one because it had no title, and it didn't look like an ordinary book. I stepped closer and tried to get it, but the bookshelf suddenly moved, and I almost screamed, thinking a book might fall on me. To my surprise, it seemed like a door suddenly opened. A door? What kind of door is this? I approached it and slowly opened it. I was astonished to find that it led to a room.

After Hayley led everyone into the stairwell, she immediately locked the door from the inside. As they started climbing up, loud banging echoed from below, zombies slamming into the door nonstop. The zombies that had followed them from the drugstore screeched nonstop, throwing themselves against the door. This door was way sturdier than the aluminum one at the drugstore. It was a proper fire-rated safety door. The heavy thudding of zombies crashing into it made everyone's hearts race, and they instinctively stuck even closer to Hayley.

Kevin heard Clark's response clearly and reached for the third bookshelf in the bedroom. "Clark, something's not right! It won't open!" Kevin conveyed his confusion to Clark via a video call. Clark pointed to a book in front of Kevin and said, "Book." Kevin didn't initially understand why Clark mentioned the book. Nevertheless, he gently moved the book as suggested, and a hidden door, cleverly disguised as a bookshelf, slowly opened. Upon seeing the hidden door, Kevin couldn't help but exclaim in his mind, 'Damn! There really is a secret room!'

I told him before hanging up. There was no way for me to see what was happening inside, my dark side was telling me to open the door and get in, I held the nob to see if the door was opened but as I twisted it, it was locked, this means I have to look for a way to pry the door open, I took the pin from my hair as I tried to pick the lock, i twisted and turn before the door successfully unlocked, I quietly opened the door and was greeted with a turned down sitting room, the couch pillows were on the floor, books were scattered here and there, it was a total mess,

My hands are bleeding by the time I pry it loose, but I don't care. I wedge the board against the bottom hinge and throw my full weight against it. The rusted metal groans but holds. Again. And again. On the fourth attempt, the hinge pin pops free. I work frantically on the top hinge, sweat mixing with blood on my hands. The container feels smaller with each passing second, the air thinner. Finally, the second hinge gives way. I push against the door from the inside. It shifts slightly—enough for me to squeeze my fingers through and work it open wider.

You are a good door, I tell Hinge. We are a good door, Hinge answers, and includes Mara and the payroll ledger and Jonah’s shared leaf and even the rust-red child that is still learning how to be silver. Above us the stars are coming out, and below us the clover field is full of people who chose to turn sideways to come in, and somewhere between Oregon and Duskbane a new sprout breaks soil, exactly sideways, exactly where a fence used to be.

Maybe it was a safe room. I decided to explore this place and came across a bookshelf. Ah, finally the reading glasses are starting to make some sense. Although I guess, the magic book correlates to it as well. Whatever, I am kind of slow today. I approached the bookshelf and skimmed through the book titles. It looked like a book collection of history books. They all had that ‘end of times’ title. I shall take some of those with me then. While I was walking around aimlessly, getting my fingerprints on everything in the room, I came across an old door which was chained and locked with a deadlock.

It felt like time was working in slow motion and the silence was quite deafening, approaching footsteps aside. Approaching footsteps? Astrid held her breath, listening closely. There were footsteps, alright. It didn't sound like they belonged was one person. They stopped right in front of the library. Astrid silently prayed for the footsteps to continue ahead. As her luck would have it, the door opened. It was too dark to make out who it was. “Why are we in your library?” A feminine voice hissed as the footsteps became rushed. Astrid heard a small slam and then a gasp.
