CHASE ************** Five Years Later **************** “Hey, take it easy!” I growl out as Fallon and Gray’s twins race past me, nearly knocking the tray of burgers out of my hands. “Sorry, Uncle Chase!” their daughter calls over her shoulder, though she doesn’t slow down in her pursuit of her brother as he weaves between the people gathered on the back lawn of the packhouse, darting around them in an effort to escape her. He almost succeeds, too, until Brock and Astrid’s daughter, Sloane, jumps between her parents to block his path, her curly hair bouncing and a mischievous grin stretching her lips.

What ever it is, the think hiding in it just blinked." Chance stood there eating his snack, listening as Kristoff's panic kicked in more. There was a scream and a crashing sound as whatever animal ran towards Kristoff. The animal made a growling sound, and that's when Chance flung the door open, only to see a racoon sniffing at a screaming Kristoff.

And this happens. I kick the empty can and I was in horror when it hits the formal guy. He's wearing a tuxedo and formal black pants. I was about to run and pretend that I didn't do it but he immediately grab my arms. “Where do you think you're going?” He asked coldly. The hell, how can I run from him? I cover my face so that if my plan is successful he will never see me again. I bite his fingers and he immediately let go of me. He shouted in an unfamiliar language, it felts like he was cursing in an alien language. I immediately run for my life. I run as fast as I can.

Fucking distraction. When Mrs. Middleton dismissed us, Rowan, Grayson, and I made our way to the cafeteria, the usual buzz of students already filling the space. The noise, the chatter, the scattered trays—all of it was the kind of chaos I had learned to block out. But today, my focus kept slipping.
