The jungle appeared to speak its secrets to me, tempting but perilous, inviting me to follow its enigmatic path. I pressed forward, my steps cautious, careful not to disturb the delicate balance of the natural world around me, guided by the cryptic whispers that danced on the edge of my mind. The canopy of the jungle above produced twisting shadows that played with my mind, each flicker and swing adding to the unease coursing through my veins.

My fingers itched to snatch it up, but I didn’t move. "You will find it here," she said, pointing to an ominous black-marked region. "But beware. That jungle is alive. It guards its secrets and devours the unworthy." I nodded slowly, swallowing hard. I had heard of the Dark jungle, though mostly in whispers. They were stories meant to scare children or warn reckless adventurers. Some of them talked about vines that moved, trees that bled, and xreatures that mimicked your voice to lure you into the dark.

Haley asked, looking at her compass, which was spinning wildly. "Because the jungle knows we're here," Jack said, looking at the shadows deepening around them. "And it doesn't like the taste." From the dense foliage around them, a sound emerged. Not a roar. Not a hiss. It sounded like dry leaves rustling together to form a word. Huuuunnnger... Ben stopped screaming. "Did... did that bush just say it was hungry?" Jack raised his machete. The violet light of his arm illuminated the gloom.

Immediately, his senses were enhanced and once more, he could see a clear trail that led westward to where Mira could be. "There," Lankko pointed at the trail that remained invisible to Enzir. "The trail leads there." Enzir had stepped out of their shelter and was about to walk westward to where Lankko pointed when he saw his companion returned to the shelter to fetch Kora. "Must you carry that chicken wherever we go?" asked Enzir impatiently. "This jungle is dangerous, Jad Enzir. I don't think Kora can last long without being eaten by some jungle animal. I'll just carry her until we get her somewhere safe," replied Lankko.
