Luna realized the jungle was waking up, and it was furious. The trees bowed and twisted, their branches shooting out like angry tentacles toward the humans. The earth shattered apart, revealing huge, dark chasms that swallowed the humans whole. Luna and Anna were terrified as the forest exacted its vengeance on those who would hurt it. When the turmoil faded, they found themselves in a clearing, surrounded by the dead of those who had dared to cross the forest's path. Luna knew that they had just witnessed something incredible, something that no one would ever believe. But she also knew that they couldn't stay there for long. They needed to keep moving, to find ways to get out of the area.

After the last two adventures in the jungle, Aurelia was quite sick of the thick groups of plants that grew by the minute. Even with the map, it took forever just to make a little progress, or at least that is the way it seemed to Aurelia. "The trail leads there." Enzir had stepped out of their shelter and was about to walk westward to where Lankko pointed when he saw his companion returned to the shelter to fetch Kora. "Must you carry that chicken wherever we go?" asked Enzir impatiently. "This jungle is dangerous, Jad Enzir. I don't think Kora can last long without being eaten by some jungle animal.
