She asked pouting at me. "Well I'm not sure." I said laughing. "I got to pack for the trip, we are leaving tomorrow." I said reminding her while I have to leave early. "Ohhh!! I forgot about that." She said and I shaked my head annoyingly at her. I stood up and she followed me behind. "Drive safely and let me know when you get home." She said pulling me for a tight hug. "I will." I managed to say. She finally left me and I was happy to breathe well.

"Just wait for our good news!" She left with the spreadsheet. I heard a brief flurry of activity as things were put away. Then, silence.

Anyway, I still felt hurt that she had to leave. Shortly after, I arrived at my house. As I slumped on the couch, I retrieved my phone from my pocket and called my sister. “She has left,” I said, my voice barely audible. Jamie groaned. “Why did you let her leave? Couldn’t you convince her to stay?” I could picture a frown on her face even though I couldn’t see her. I sighed. “I tried my best, but it seemed like her mind was already made up.” “You didn’t try hard enough.”

She had spent three years learning me. My habits. My routines. The little things I liked. The things I didn't. She knew when I was tired without me saying it. She knew when I didn't want to talk. She knew exactly how I took my coffee. She remembered things I didn't even remember telling her. And I had called all of that a contract. I had convinced myself that because she'd entered my life through an agreement, everything she did afterward had been part of the arrangement. But had it? My jaw tightened.

I said “Once you are in there is no way out” I did say a word as I kept looking at her “I mean you’re not leaving till your vacation is over right” “Yes,“ I said before she left “That was strange” I thought

“And I want you to know that I won. I finally beat you for good.” She turned on her heel and left. I didn't eat the food she left behind.

She had no idea when it was done because she hadn’t used it since she arrived Thursday evening. “I think this settles it,” Nicole said sternly. “We’re leaving – all of us.”

There was nothing left to say, she turned her back and walked stormed out of me, and i stood there watching her leave. Then the tears returned.

It wasn't like her usual self. "I am leaving," she mouthed suddenly in response, collecting her things hurriedly. It took me aback, we were spending time before and she told me that she would stay with me then why suddenly, what happened! She was collecting her things at an inhumane speed as if staying her, might do something wrong to her. I didn't understand why.

he said suddenly, his voice quieter. I tilted my head. “What was she like?” He hesitated, then began, “She was beautiful, gentle but strong. She used to take me to places like this when I was a kid. She would dress up, and we would pretend as though we were royalty.” A soft smile wrapped across my lips. “She sounds amazing.” “She was,” Kyler said, his voice tight. “Until she left.” I frowned. “Left?” “Yes.” He said, nodding his head. “She walked out one day and never came back. Said she couldn’t handle my father anymore.”
