My tone made it clear I wasn’t in the mood for small talk. “The stocks have been—” he began, but I cut him off. “Not the company. The investigation.” My voice sharpened, dangerous. He swallowed, then nodded, adjusting. “Recently, the city’s been buzzing with werewolf hunters. They’re everywhere, all of them searching for you and the Luna. It’s dangerous for you to be here right now.” I said nothing, just stared at him, urging him to continue. “But I haven’t been able to track their hideouts,” Ardan admitted. “They’ve gone more discreet after the ball party incident.” He paused, glancing at me. “But… there’s something odd.”

He asked, and I hummed. "No thanks. I don't think it will be too long. It's just a two hours ride, right? I'll just do my work in the meantime," I said before taking out my laptop from inside my bag. Opening my laptop, I clicked on the hidden folder. The folder contains all the information about most of the people who were known to have visions of the future in the past. They belonged to all kinds of species. I haven't found anything regarding Werewolves yet, but I am hopeful that I might find some hints from other species if I observe carefully.

AUTHOR'S POV Heavy June rain hammered against the corrugated iron roof of the underground bar, drowning out the low thumping bass. Yvonne crossed her arms over her expensive trench coat, shivering as the damp, stifling humidity clung to her skin. The subterranean tavern smelled of wet dog, stale beer, and raw ozone from the thunderstorm raging across the city. Sitting across the sticky wooden booth, a man with a jagged scar down his neck lazily counted the stacks of crisp hundred-dollar bills. Securing her position as Luna meant cutting out Chandler’s obsession at the root, and this human mercenary was the only blade sharp enough to do it.

Greg didn’t answer the deputy. His sights fixed on Lucianne, giving her time to figure it out because he knew, without a doubt, that she could. Lucianne was pondering deeply before her sights went back to the hologram. She pinched the screen to reveal the whole werewolf and lycan territory. Her eyes squinted slightly to see if there was anything underneath the familiar geographical area everyone was familiar with. Greg came over to tap on the ‘routes’ icon, and hundreds of red lines appeared on the hologram that Lucianne took a shocked breath as she stared blankly at what she was seeing, taking a step back to get a fuller view.

His eyes were turning watery. "You still care about him don't you?" "No. I need to kill him. He's a threat to the werewolf world. And rumors has it he has found the queen of the rogues. So she is being hunted down right now." "The queen, she isn't the mate of Jayden." "No. The queen has rogue blood running inside her so she is the best female rogue. Jayden must feel threatened so he wants her dead." "Mate, you know who that queen is right?"

“Why so quick…” “Like I said, urgent business to get back to and besides, you don’t have to worry much. We will be back within a year and eventually, we will alternate between the two empires. Yes, it is not like we will have a choice with your son and my daughter.” Themis mumbled. “What?” I yelled. “Huh?” Themis looked at me in shock. “What’s wrong?” “What did you just say?” I asked her and like that annoying habit of Silana, Themis shrugged.

No one was talking, and I was growing bored. With an exasperated sigh, I stood up and headed toward the bar. It was well stocked, but with a manly collection of booze. It took a little bit of thinking, but I had a few pretty colored drinks made up eventually. I garnished them with tiny umbrellas because it’s impossible to be mad when you have a froo froo colored drink with an umbrella in it in your hand. Once they were handed out to two very confused lycans, I took mine over to the pool table and started racking up.

Too bad it wasn’t Madeline’s birthday today. “The second wave is almost half a mile away from where you guys are. They are once again using most rogues in this attack.” Lucifer informed Albert after getting his calmness back. “We got this.” Albert replied and cut off the mind-link. Lucifer took a deep breath and then informed everyone about the next wave. “They are already exhausted, Alpha. Shall we intervene now?” Jason, Elvin’s father asked Lucifer worriedly. “Don’t underestimate them, Jason. They aren’t special wolves just for a show.” Lucifer replied to him while watching the youngsters finishing the first group of attackers.

She grabbed my hand and pulled me to my feet. "It’s not safe. We have to leave. Now." She didn’t wait for a response. She jumped out of the treehouse, and I had no choice but to follow. As my feet hit the ground, I took in my surroundings— The scent. The trees. The damp earth. We were in rogue territory. The Neutral Zone. Panic set in. "Come on!" Lillian urged, tugging me forward. "We have to get away before Cole’s men find us!"
