I laughed as we walked towards the restroom, “I told you to skip biology and get this over but no, you want to be hard-headed, now look at you.” “Shut up,” she said weakly as I pushed open the restroom door. I barely rolled up my sleeve as Janea bared her fangs, the pointed canines pressing into her bottom lip and making an indention, her eyes becoming slivered and a glowing shade of yellow, her painted nails sharpening into claws. She chomped down on my arm and no amount of healing or durability can take away the pain of being bitten by a hungry vampire. “Whoa! Take it easy Janea! That actually hurt,” I exclaimed.

She reluctantly sat there, looking at the Goddess in front of her. "Give me your hand," Hecate offered, showing the girl her upturned palm. She placed hers in it, a little surprised at the coldness meeting her skin. "You are grieving. Your heart has been broken by the vampire," the Goddess' voice sounded ominous and powerful, suddenly coming from all around her. Diana's breath hitched in her throat. The Goddess wrapped her hand around hers, her sharp and black nails quickly sinking into Diana's skin like tiny blades, drawing blood. Diana let out a pained mewl, eyes widening with alarm.

Now, a mere werewolf had taken her place in his heart. As Vanessa paced her room, her thoughts raced. She gazed at an ornate mirror, where her reflection, a stunning vampire with long ebony hair and piercing red eyes, stared back at her. She whispered to her own image, her voice seething with bitterness, "Mara, you will not take what's rightfully mine. I will ensure that you meet your doom."

The atmosphere was suffocating, heavy with despair and hatred. In front of the gates, three powerful creatures stood out. To the right, a white Lycan with golden tips in his fur and eyes red as embers. At the center, a witch with flaming hair and shimmering purple eyes. To the left, a great Dracula, with prominent fangs and eyes as black as the night. On the ground, drawn in blood, mystical symbols formed a circle. At the center of that circle, a baby lay wrapped in a cloak adorned with enigmatic engravings. The little one cried in despair as a dagger hovered menacingly above him.

I pushed the book slightly toward her and she, to my surprise, took it. Gwen opened the book and read the first page. “‘Vampire eyes can be a range of colors, including yellow, orange, and even green or blue. A vampire's eyes can change colors depending on their mood—red or yellow to symbolize anger, yellow or blue to indicate sadness, or green to signify peace.’” She stopped and looked up at me, angered. "Great. I knew it. Wendall wants to eat me, and Vicktor hates me." She closed the book and ran her fingers threw her hair.

The professor ambled back to the lectern. “Vampires are thought to be models of physical perfection,” he said to the class. “Fast, strong, handsome or beautiful. And by and large, much of that seems to be true. But there are stories that every now and then, something goes awry in the transmission process when a victim is bitten. The result of such an occurrence is a flawed creature, without the powers of a true vampire. Vampires have a name for such a creature—grafhym. The chief marker for a grafhym, it is said, is one fang instead of two.”

They’d spent the last hour scrolling, debating, vetoing, and finally settling on a theme that felt right. Black and crimson as the base—bold, powerful, unmistakably vampire. Silver and deep violet as accents—nodding to Liora’s shadows and Seraphina’s precision. Leather and charcoal gray for texture and edge—Ravenna’s influence. Crimson, silver, and deep violet woven into every piece. And the wristbands—custom leather cuffs, each with intricate vampire fang designs embossed in silver and deep violet thread, charcoal gray backing, crimson stitching. Subtle. Symbolic. Undeniable.

It was already getting dark, we were supposed to go home.
