In the dream, she’d changed—skin cracking, bones shifting—and she came at me fast, tearing through trees and screaming my name like it was a curse.
I didn’t run. I couldn’t. I just *froze*—like prey.
“I saw her,” I whispered, voice catching. “Ava. She was—she was—. A werewolf. She turned and... she wanted to kill me.”

“It was just a dream,” he said softly.
