The Forgotten Luna
I twisted, but it was too late—
A blur slammed into the vampire, knocking it off course. Damon. His shoulder took the hit, fingers tearing through his flesh. He grunted, blood soaking his shirt, but he drove his fist into the vampire’s chest, ripping out its heart. The creature crumbled, and Damon staggered, his face pale.
“Damon!” I yelled, catching him as he swayed.
The last vampire hissed, but Dayton dispatched it with a snap of its neck. The house fell silent, save for our ragged breaths and the drip of Damon’s blood on the floor. Ash coated everything, the stench of death overwhelming.
