Vengeance Is Mine Says The Lord Meaning Novels & Stories

Because of him, we fell! My expression didn’t change, “that sounds like his problem,” I replied flatly. The man’s face darkened instantly, “Du wirst für seine Sünden bezahlen.” (You will pay for his sins.) I let out a quiet breath, “I’m not responsible for anything my father did,” I said, my voice dropping lower. “So take your revenge somewhere else.” He snarled then barked loudly, “Blut bleibt Blut!”(Blood remains blood!)

He frowned a bit. “One is Vengeance. Vengeance because you would have accepted your fate by that time— accepted that the soul of the Moon goddess resides in you, and realized that you have all the power to extinguish all your enemies back at the Palace. Vengeance can be your reason for returning… or reason number two.” He said and looked away from me again.

He draws the sword through the icy fire terrain. He had murdered hundreds, drunk all their blood and left them withering to the dirt. He walked as he uttered, "I am Revenge: sent from the infernal kingdom, To ease the gnawing vulture of thy mind, By working wreakful vengeance on thy foes. Vengeance is in my heart, death in my hand, Blood and revenge are hammering in my head. ... And wash their hands in...Kathleen's blood."

Her faint smile increase as she realized how it had suddenly made her prepare for the afterlife until a quote caught her attention. For this is a day for the Lord God of host, a day of vengeance! The smile wiped off her face as she stared at the ceiling blankly. Seconds ago, she was determined to die now she doesn't know if she really wants to still avenge herself instead of Leaving "Vengeance to God" as the Bible had said.

The Council member holding the scale looked up once more and his mouth was pressed into a grim line. “Your search for vengeance is justified yet your soul will not be redeemed.” “What does that mean?” “You can only seek vengeance for yourself. To seek vengeance for your father’s death will lead to the condemnation of your soul.” She clenched her teeth and her fists beside her. “Then let my soul be condemned!” “Child…”

I know it's not going to be easy. This is going to be a fight. A daily struggle, first with my own overwhelming fear, then later with them. They tried to kill me before. They'll try again. But I have to fight. I have to choose to fight, every day, every hour if that's what it takes until I get justice. Or vengeance. Vengeance belongs to Me, says the Lord, I hear in my mother's voice. I scoff. He can have his vengeance. But I'm still getting mine.

Aside from the bird, there's one very small that I don't think I've bothered to ask him about. What the hell! “Vincit qui se vincit,” he says as he twirls the tattoo in his forearm my way. “It means He conquers who conquers himself. Which means manage your urge to be arrogant, smug, cruel, or vindictive when you win.” I don’t know why he says this but I nod. “You could have said that without putting it in my face though.” “I don’t want to miss the chance of showing off,” he says laughing.

My brows furrowed, but before I could ask what he meant, my gaze dropped—and my breath hitched. A sharp gasp tore from my lips. There, inked into my skin, was a tattoo. A dagger piercing through a crown, its edges bold and unyielding, and just beneath it, a phrase I couldn’t even pronounce. “How… how did this get here?” My voice broke, panic crawling up my throat. “Onore e Vendetta,” Enzo quoted smoothly. “It’s an Italian phrase. It means ‘Honor and Vengeance.’” He tilted his head slightly. “And that is what we live by.”

"And Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment is greater than I can bear. Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me. And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him."

Dylan urges and emphasizes on the last word. We shift into our wolf forms and run, leaving dead bodies and the injured behind. What's that quote that they always say about revenge? Something along the lines of : "love is sweet but revenge is sweeter." They were right about that! ____________________________________ Hope
