Will you marry me, Mr. Mayor

Will you marry me, Mr. Mayor

I said. Celeste nodded. “And currently listed as an external legal consultant for the Dale Civic Development Foundation.” The room went quiet. Governor Alcantara looked up sharply. “That foundation contacted Veronica.” Veronica swallowed. “The man who arranged the information search said he represented a civic group. He never said Dale.” Celeste looked at her. “Do you have his messages?” Veronica nodded quickly. “My phone is with your people. They can check everything.” Althea’s voice cut in, calm but edged. “No deleting?”

Alpha Daddy, My Secret Desire

Alpha Daddy, My Secret Desire

Her eyes were sharp, like she was searching for someone. Rosa greeted her, but the woman looked straight at me. "Are you Sera?" she asked. I tensed. "Who are you?" She walked closer and extended her hand. "My name is Veronica Hale. I'm a freelance journalist. I used to write for the Washington Post, but now I run my own online media outlet." "What do you want with me?" Veronica didn't take offense. She lowered her hand and pulled a business card from her blazer pocket. "I know who you are. I know about Gabriel Bloodfang, and I know about the trial that turned your life into hell."

PERKS OF THE POSITION

PERKS OF THE POSITION

Veronica Everest was sitting in the shadow of the tinted glass. She wasn't wearing alabaster wool today. She was wrapped in an immaculate, high-necked dress of charcoal silk that shimmered like liquid graphite in the dim light of the cabin. Her dark hair was pinned back with a flawless, geometric clip, her designer sunglasses covering eighty percent of her face, and her signature blood-red lipstick a sharp, perfect line painted onto her unreadable features. On her lap sat her secure, encrypted slate, its screen casting a soft, emerald-green glow over her gold-tipped fingers. She didn't look out the window at Christopher’s press conference. She didn't look back at the courthouse where Lily Wh

I Married His Enemy: Return Of The Forgotten Princess

I Married His Enemy: Return Of The Forgotten Princess

Veronica’s voice tore through the air like thunder. Everyone turned. The crowd split open as Veronica stormed forward in her black heels, sunglasses pushed to the top of her head, and her expression burning with fury. Rafael followed close behind, his presence alone enough to make several journalists lower their cameras. “Do you people have no shame?” Veronica snapped, grabbing one of the mic booms and shoving it aside. “You’re disgusting pieces of shit! She’s an actress, not a criminal! What’s wrong with you all?” “Ms. Veronica, we just...” one journalist started.

Alpha Ashton

Alpha Ashton

He should feel honored that he was taking extra notice of him. Once Ashton was weakened, it will be easy to take him down. In fact, Kelly had sealed the whole villa and no matter what Ashton did, he won't be able to escape. He had planned for too long, he wasn't about to let anything disrupt his plans. ... "Ashton...." "There is wolfbane all over the place. Can you teleport us somewhere safe?" Ashton said. His consciousness was on and off and he was finding it hard to keep his eyes open. "Wolfbane....? But why can't I feel anything?" Maya asked. She was perfectly fine. She knew how lethal that thing was. How could she not be affected?

Breaking The Spotlight

Breaking The Spotlight

“Her real name’s Isla Monroe. Minor credits. Stage work mostly. Nothing recent. Veronica paid off her lease last month, and her phone logs show two calls from an encrypted number the same day she posted that accusation.” Celeste flipped open the file. Isla looked young. Earnest. Like someone who didn’t realize they were being used. “She didn’t just sell out,” Celeste murmured. “She thought she was exposing something real.” Damien moved beside her. “We still don’t respond directly. If we give it oxygen—” “I know,” she said. “But we’re keeping eyes on her. If Veronica pushes her forward again, we’ll be ready.” Nolan’s screen pinged again. “Heads up. One of Veronica’s shell corps just tried to

Breaking Mr. Vergara (English Version)

Breaking Mr. Vergara (English Version)

It’s hard for me to get caught up in my mission early. I’m not going to record why people are looking in our direction, it’s because of Mr. Trace Vergara. Who wouldn’t look at him? He is handsome and you can only drop your jaw when you see him up close, but I am not like other women who are easily attracted to men with attractive and handsome faces. As far as I know, Mr. Vergara is a Half-Spanish and Half-Filipino, but wow! The strength of this man’s appeal !. For me, he is really handsome and okay. Many woman have cried for this man, then I really don’t believe that I am the first woman he will deliver or sent in my own apartment. If they are true, I will hold on to them and I will motivate

Love in another shadow

Love in another shadow

The woman, who was wearing a black blouse and a long skirt of the same color, was only able to attend the police invitation given by Noel, as she was still in a state of grief and busy clarifying all the news about her husband in the media over the past few days. Indeed, as a successful medical device entrepreneur, Rich Greek's unnatural death has caused quite a stir in New York City. And as the heiress to a fortune, it was Veronica's responsibility to answer all the public's assumptions about her husband's horrific tragedy. "Of course, the detective," she said quietly. Third person point of view: “You are not going to call him to your side, Diego.” Luna Claudia snapped at her son, knowing that he was going to call the one man that she did not want him working with. Mariano

I sat alone in that row of three seats, and cried and cried and cried. "Donna?" I looked up to see a tall, lanky man with an overgrown beard. "I'm Angelo." He offered. "I am Sergio's underboss." I nodded. "I'm not your Donna. Your Don is inside fighting for his life because of me." Angelo eyed the seat beside me, and I told him to sit down. "Jace is dead." He said. "Good." "Landon is alive, but we have him now." I nodded. "Okay."

Miyaka
This was a great read! Worth every coin. I like that it's not full of fillers, and doesn't beat around the bush so much just to make it longer. Chapters are really long too which I absolutely livey! Good job to the author!

This was an amazing story! I wish there would’ve been a little more at the end, but otherwise I absolutely recommend reading this. Another great story to add to my favorites on here. I liked how it was a little different from most of the other mafia romance stories on here. Fantastic job author!
