Veronica moved quickly so that she did not get trapped under his heavy weight. Veronica chuckled as she moved off the bed and grabbed her dress once more. Alpha Evander would be out for a while after what she had given him. She tied the sash on her dress once more as she walked over to the bedroom door. She glanced back at the Alpha once more before she left the room in search of his office.

“And that’s why I booked a room for you to take some time out at a newly opened resort in Galway.” “Veronica, it’s enough that you’ve housed me and fed me. I asked as I accepted them. “I’ll take my chances,” Veronica said, “Rather than step on some poisonous thing, or who knows what else.” That seemed like sound logic to me, so I accepted the shoes and kicked them on. I didn’t care about the sand in them. It was already a comfort knowing I wouldn’t step on anything sharp, sticky, or dangerous without at least some measure of protection. The shoes were simply tennis shoes, but it was a hell of a lot better than nothing. Veronica retrieved her written instructions from inside of her bodice. I glanced away as she did so, offering her some measure of privacy, though she didn’t seem bothered either way.

I sighed inwardly. What good is bullying these poor clerks? I knew in my heart that I wasn’t a queen. I was just a humble slave under contract with Alpha Draven. Veronica’s attention was soon diverted by the racks of clothes the clerks brought out, each one filled with various exquisite gowns, shoes, and accessories for us to mix and match as we pleased. Veronica roamed through the racks, her fingers gliding over the luxurious fabrics, feeling the smooth silk and intricate lace. She squealed with delight.

DEX. "You can turn now," Veronica says, and I prepare myself before I face her, and she cackles as she pulls at the ends of the shirt. "Hideous, isn’t it?" She’s in one of my loose black shirts, and it practically swallows her, reaching her mid-thighs. Christ, was she always that tiny?

Veronica grinned before unzipping the garment bag. She paused at the sight. The dress inside was stunning. Deep burgundy silk caught the warm bedroom light as she lifted it carefully from the bag. Elegant without appearing delicate. Structured through the waist before falling into smooth lines that looked almost liquid beneath her hands. Maya stared openly. “Oh my.” Veronica exhaled softly. Rick had clearly ignored every attempt she made to minimise her appearance at tomorrow’s event. A smaller box rested near the bottom of the bag. Inside were understated diamond earrings.

Veronica said, "Well . . . I umm . . . threw all of your other clothes away and I kind of replace the old clothes with the new ones that I have brought." I opened my mouth to speak. "Wait! But the new clothes are like a whole lot more fashionable." Veronica said and grinned. I gasped, "What?! When did you do that?" I asked. "Yesterday, when you were eating dinner. I was bored and I thought your closet needed a total make - over, so yeah." Veronica said. "Okay, so you basically threw away all of my old clothes." I asked. "Yeah and I spent hours and hours in the mall, just to buy you designers’. By the way, they are all your size." Veronica said and grinned.

That way, I’ll have more time with my girl. There’s a soft knock on the front door and Arrick perks up inside of me, his tail wagging when Veronica’s sweet scent hits us. I toss off my apron before I head to answer the door, taking a deep breath to try to calm down before I open the door for her. “Hey, you look lovely,” I greet her as I take in her outfit. She’s wearing a pair of tight black skinny jeans with a pale pink wrap around top that ties at her waist. A pair of black wedges complete the look and lend her another couple of inches. She’s almost eye to eye with me now since I’m barefoot.

"Yo, long time no see, busy bee," A familiar, infuriating female voice called from behind. Winnie's scalp tingled. Just as she feared, trouble had arrived. Veronica—how did she always know exactly where Winnie would be? Like a dog on her scent, she appeared at the perfect moment. Veronica also wore a cocktail dress—a pale blue strapless mini, paired with minimal jewelry and a rhinestone clutch. The outfit was just her usual style, slightly more formal than everyday wear. Compared to Winnie's grand ensemble, it looked a touch underwhelming.
