Jesse watched me with concern, and I stood there trying not to completely lose my mind. "I need a drink." I said and turned around. I headed straight for my purse as I knew there was nothing strong enough in the house that would help. I did not bother to say anything to Jesse as I left the house and headed in the direction of a nearby gas station. As I walked the sidewalk, I let my mind race. I had a ghost in my house. His name was Jesse Martin and he lived back in the forties. I assume the vision that I had of the gunshot in the basement had to do with him in some way. For someone who did not believe in this sort of thing, I gave myself a bit of credit for not completely breaking down.

I mumble, my eyes stuck on the road as we pass by restaurants, approaching the docks. “Mumbling will also get you nowhere Ava, you’re about to become the wife to one of the most powerful men in the world, with that mumbling, you will gain no respect, speak up or be quiet for a very long time,” he shakes his head, grabbing a few documents from the side and reading through them, paying no attention to me anymore.

“And if it goes down, everything goes down with it.” I swallowed hard, my throat feeling tight. “What do I do Mum?” Her figure flickered, almost like the dream was struggling to keep her there. “The mirror of the First Vessel… It’s broken, scattered. You need to find the pieces. When the mirror’s whole again, use it to invoke the first vessel's spirit.” “Her spirit? She existed centuries ago, how can it be possible? “You’re a vessel too, that’s why it will be possible and besides, you’re not just any vessel but the last chosen vessel of the moon. The First Vessel would want to meet the last.

She stifled a yawn. “Uhmm.. Right. I did.” Gosh. I felt like a high schooler in front of his crush. “La Casa dos spiritus.” “What?” She stared at me in confusion. “The house of spirits? The spirit’s form shifted slightly, its whispers growing louder. “ But you haven't killed the Lunar Alpha.”. He said. “They think they can stand against me,” I said, my voice filled with venom. “But I will not allow it. I will burn their clans to the ground, and I will make them kneel before me. But to do that, I need more. I need your power. Let me become your vessel. And I'll destroy her.” The spirit remained still for a moment. Then, it laughed. A deep, echoing sound that made the torches flicker violently.

“I’m just going to breeze over the part where you knew Shakespeare and focus on what you told me about myself. Alright?” “Fair enough.” “I’m a vessel. For what exactly?” “For Cordelia. Our pup. Who has fallen asleep, by the way? You should remove her from your teet.” “Right.” I gently slide my pinky between Codi’s gums to unlatch her the way the nurses showed me. “I’m a vessel for Codi. Wild way to talk about our pregnancy, but okay? Not going to argue. Next question. Your spirit is supposed to keep me safe. From what? Because I don’t think it’s as obvious as you think.”

“Is there any way to separate the spirit from the vessels then?” “Only their master can do that.”, I answered and kept my anger in check, thinking how THAT MAN did this to the innocent people. “There is no other way to separate spirits from the vessels. Once any is possessed as a vessel, he or she is dead. The evil spirit destroys the soul of the innocent one, completely. A walking zombie or a living puppet, you can say that to them.” . “That’s so cruel. Isn't this forbidden?” . “It is forbidden but evil spirits don’t care about anyone.”
