The rain of a late-summer storm lashed against the towering, arched windows of Xavier’s private study, blurring the lights of the harbor in the distance. Inside, the only illumination came from the amber embers of the fireplace and the soft, warm light of a single desk lamp casting long shadows across the rich mahogany bookshelves. Spread out across the massive desk were physical architectural blueprints for the terminal expansion. But Xavier wasn't looking at the schematics. His eyes were locked on Selah.

"I can imagine that in this day and age, you're not too familiar with our customs and traditions; probably not even with mates, am I correct?" I nodded. "Here are some books I think you could benefit from," Xavier said, pulling three from the shelf. "If you have any questions let me know, I'll go get you some tea while you read."
