Vessels Hollow Knight Novels & Stories

The mountain groaned. Cracks spread across every wall. The Devourer immediately rose to its feet. "Duck!" Nobody questioned it. Everyone dropped. A second later, a black tendril erupted through the floor. The thing was enormous. A twisting mass of darkness and fractured silver light. It smashed through a pillar. Wrapped around another. And crushed it effortlessly. Warriors scrambled backward. The tendril withdrew. Then another burst through. Then another. Then another. The Hollow had arrived. The First King moved instantly.

They didn't growl; they simply lunged with ceramic blades and high-voltage stun-batons. Leo led the way, his scarred arm acting as a physical club. Every time he struck a Hollow, the silver circuits flared, sending a jolt of feedback into the machine’s internal processors. It was a brutal, mechanical dance. "Go! To the central core!" Leo roared, throwing a Hollow over the railing and into the dark sea below. They reached the primary drilling floor. In the center of the platform was a massive, glass-walled cylinder filled with a swirling, violet liquid. It looked like a larger version of the Origin Strain, but it was darker, more aggressive.

"Another ancient bloodline has fallen. The killer left behind only one warning. The Hollow Moon has chosen its next vessel." Riven took the message. "Sable warns us now. The game changes again." Lucien stood beside him. "The next vessel. It could mean one of us Riven." Riven nodded. "Then we stay ready. Together we face whatever vessel the Hollow Moon chooses." Thorne added. "The rider says Sable lost men to the shadows too. She fights the same enemy now." Mara joined them. "The ancient records match the warning. The Hollow Moon picks its vessel from the bonded pair or those close to them."

“No.” The earth split open. A deafening crack tore through the clearing as dark energy erupted from the fractured ground, from within the fissure, hands emerged. Pale. Clawed. Dozens of them. Then bodies followed, tall figures cloaked in bone-white armor. Their eyes glowing crimson. The temperature dropped instantly. Every wolf present froze. Cassian’s voice was barely above a whisper. “The Hollow Court.”

The cabinet toppled, crashing onto the entryway, but through the gap smoke and shadows poured in. They weren’t human. The Hollowed. But not the skeletal ones we’d fought in the gorge. These were armored, metal plates and tubes fused into their bodies, red optics glowing where their eyes should be. The twisted results of the Nest’s dark experiments. “Fire!” I yelled, opening fire. Sparks flew as the bullets bounced off their armor. Regnar roared and launched himself at the first, fighting with fists and wings. Damian moved like a shadow, his blades searching for cracks in the plating.

Its face looked almost normal until it smiled too wide. “You carry the throne of ruin,” it said softly. “I said I’m not your queen.” “But you will be.” The cracks beneath its skin brightened. Kael moved before I could react, throwing a blade directly into the Hollow’s chest. The creature staggered backward with a distorted screech. Then chaos exploded. The Hollows attacked all at once. Kael shoved me aside just as one lunged toward us. Its claws sliced through the air inches from my face. “Run!” he shouted.

"Looks like my new wife has quite a colorful romantic history." The assistant hesitated on the other end. "Mr. Damien, do you still want to marry Miss Vale?" Damien squinted, holding the phone, his gaze turning thoughtful. "A little vixen is only wild because she hasn't met her match. Once she does, she'll settle down." "......" His thumb brushed against the kiss mark on his neck, a mysterious smile playing on his lips. Amidst the gazes of the crowd, the groom, standing tall, lifted the bride's veil. Their eyes met.

⸻ Maeve approached. “What did you see?” Mason lowered his voice. “Garrick asked for immortality.” Maeve closed her eyes. “Of course he did.” “He didn’t become the Hollow.” Mason continued. “He opened himself to it.” Anwen joined them. “A vessel.” “A conduit.” “A door.” Mason nodded. ⸻ Maeve looked toward the old oak. “Then Garrick can appear wherever the Hollow can reach.” “Possibly.” Mason hated the word.

He didn’t make it far. When they pulled him back, he had no face. Just smooth skin where the eyes, mouth, and nose should be. In the centre of his palm, a single smoking symbol was carved deep into the flesh: — The mark of Hollow-Blood. The basin was gone. In its place, scorched into the blackened marble, were words that pulsed faintly like cooling embers: The Hollow-Blood walks. And the divine will burn. --- THE VESSEL’S FLIGHT & LAST BREATH

That somehow felt worse. Gabriel slowly moved in front of me again. The Hollow ignored him completely. Its eyes stayed fixed on me. “Open…the gate.” Fear climbed up my spine violently. “I don’t know what that means!” The Hollow growled low. The sound shook the ocean itself. the spirit beast attacked again. Silver flames exploded across the Hollow’s body while both creatures crashed back into the sea violently. Massive waves slammed against every ship. Evelynn shouted orders across the fleet while hunters fought the dark creatures attacking from beneath the water.
