Vessels Hollow Knight Novels & Stories

Pack’s pack, Tess—strike, guard! Vrynna emerged from a tunnel, her presence a cold void against the hollow’s heat, her violet eyes glowing with malevolent intent, her bone staff clutched in a pale hand, its tip carved with jagged runes that pulsed red, matching the altar’s hum. Her black robes flowed like liquid shadow, embroidered with bone-white runes, her platinum hair unbound, falling in sharp waves, her voice a low, venomous hiss, the air around her crackling with dark magic, the curse’s power amplifying her presence, the red glow in the ground flaring brighter, the heat intensifying, the stalactites dripping faster, their crimson liquid hissing louder, the hollow trembling.

Crimson dashed to where she had been standing but there was nothing there except for the purple haze that still glowed from the aftermath of the blast. It was her aura. Her speed force, meaning she was dead. Crimson felt a rage build up within him as he turned to the woman whose weapon sort of shrunk and disappeared. She then went ahead to pull out something from her coat. A small gadget that she used to get herself out of there. Crimson watched the woman vanish into thin air. People were gathering around him, including Natasha and company. "What the hell are you looking at?" With that, the scarlet speedster bolted away.

He twirled it around in his hands and it looked as though a storm of memories were flashing before him. ”There was a fight. The vampires attacked a little village just south of the Knights pack border. The pack who lived there weren't prepared. They preferred to live in peace and harmony and rarely-if ever- got involved in conflict with other packs. One night, during winter, the vampires attacked and many died before your father made it there with his warriors. They were called the Holistic Pack, they treasured what your kind had done for centuries and they didn't want to change. They were secluded from civilization and lived calm and collected lives, hunting for meat and growing vegetables

She had heard about his father before, so if he had learnt from his father, why wasn’t he recruited by her father? She shrugged. Her father did things his own way. VVVVV “So you just turn the canister like this” Takashi showed her. And the thing was actually making a small beeping noise. She refused to be impressed. “Then wait three seconds before you throw it” and he did that, and a gas cloud filled the area he threw it to. “What does it do?” “It stuns your opponent for a while. Temporary blindness just like multiple camera flashes”. “Okay, but I’ll still choose brass knuckles over this any day”.

Not with the wind, but with thousands of silver-scaled bodies. The Failed Ones weren't just attacking. They were a tide of silver and teeth, and in the center of their line was something that made my blood freeze. A giant, white wolf. It was twice the size of any Alpha, its fur matted with black ink, and its eyes... they were a hollow, glowing white. "Damon?" I whispered. "No," Rowan said, his grip tightening on his sword. "Damon is dead. That... that is what happens when a body is left in the Void too long without a soul. It's a **Vessel**. And it’s wearing your father’s crest on its collar."

The Guardian finally forced himself to speak. "The Hollow Ones." The name settled over the valley, and no one questioned the fear in his voice. Lyra frowned. "Who are they?" He swallowed before answering. "The first failures." Her eyes narrowed. "Failures of what?" The Guardian looked toward Cassian. "The Vessel." Silence settled over the camp. Cassian felt the black veins beneath his skin begin to throb in time with his heartbeat. Something buried inside him stirred as it looked upon the strangers, and the sensation frightened him more than the sight of their empty eyes.

This wasn’t the man who’d bled for me, who’d fought the Hollow in his own soul. “You’re not him,” I said, stepping back. “My Kael has darkness. He has edges. He has me.” The illusion wavered, then collapsed into shards of light. The Mirror Hunger inside me recoiled, a hiss of frustration. One thread of doubt severed. The next path spat me into a battlefield of ash. Kael stood over fallen pack members, Thorne’s throat torn and Mira’s eyes glassy. His form rippled with Hollow corruption, silver-black fur matted with blood. “You’re my weapon,” he snarled, voice layered with the beast. “The Vessel serves the god.”

“You’ve wandered a long time. Have you bargained with others—heralds, or the thing we called the Hollowing?” The revenant’s face clouds. “Not a bargain, but a crossing. The herald comes before the hollow—the whisper before the silence. It seeks those who are empty and makes them vessels. The Hollowing is hungry, but it is not cruel by nature. It is called to feast by the bargains others make: the debts, the betrayals, the loneliness that sharpens like a blade.” He fixes his strange, storm-grey gaze on Rowan. “Your enemy is not the dark, but those who open the door and do not count the cost. The herald can be bargained with, but its price is always belonging—or the breaking of it.”

Malachi’s voice. "Tonight, we hunt the rarest game in the history of the Sanguine Court! The Architect and his Beast have returned to us! The hunt is open! The grand prize to the one who brings me the Muse's heart!" The walls of the vault began to slide upward. "F**k," Kaelor said, his eyes turning a shadowed gold. He grabbed Aradaa’s waist, pulling him back as the first of the Vampire Knights appeared at the end of the hall, their red visors glowing in the dark.

But something was terribly wrong. Their armor had fused to their bodies. Black veins pulsed beneath cracked skin. Silver eyes had become completely black. Each warrior carried the remains of a once-beautiful crystal weapon now stained by shadows. The first Hollow One stopped twenty feet away. It tilted its head unnaturally. Its voice sounded like dozens of whispers speaking together. “…King…” Another stepped forward. “…Return…” Then every Hollow One spoke at once. “…TO THE DARKNESS.” They charged. The corridor exploded into chaos.
