Vessels Hollow Knight Novels & Stories

“Okay. So you know how the Moon — the real Moon, not the thing we talk to when we shift — has phases? Waxing, full, waning, dark? It’s not just poetry. Old lore says the magic across the Veil has cycles too, like tides. Times when the barrier holds strong, and times when it thins. Times when it listens. Times when it hungers.” Her fingertips hovered over an inked diagram: a circle, blacked out, surrounded by jagged lines like fractures. “The Hollow King is what fills the Veil when it goes hollow. The silence. The empty. He’s the thing that moves in the wake of a devouring. He doesn’t get called down like Jade. He seeps in when something already broke.” Baylee felt something cold run through

Morwen’s hands shook as she drew a new one in her own blood. Veyra chanted, voice trembling, offering her animus like a sacrifice. They placed fresh relics, black crystals, bone shards, and a lock of hair wrapped in silver thread into the center. They were trying to rebind the Hollow. To force it back under their control. I almost laughed. They didn’t understand. The Hollow wasn’t a tool. It was a consequence. And consequences don’t obey liars. I left them there, bleeding and begging in the dark, and returned to my dorm.

The blade gleamed with silver threads, and two more knights crumbled, eyes glazing as dream-silk tendrils wrapped around their armor. The remaining riders rallied, lances leveled. Steel rang as they charged, hooves churning earth. Vera backed toward the boulder, chanting again, channels of starlight snaking outward. One rider’s steed reared, sprayed snow, then collapsed in sudden collapse; the next knight yanked at his own helm, swaying. Three mounted knights remained. They wheeled, cutting her off from the gate. Vera licked her lips, breath ragged. She pressed the fang to her palm, closing her eyes and summoning the memory of Ember Hollow’s awakening:

The vessels, humming with amplified energy, projected this wave outwards, a beacon of light aimed at the heart of the darkness. The Veiled Nebula convulsed. The entity, sensing a resistance unlike anything it had encountered, lashed out. Tendrils of psychic energy slammed against the barrier, testing its strength. The bio-engineered vessels strained, their hulls glowing with a white-hot intensity as they absorbed the onslaught.

The symbol inside the Hollow burned into my vision. The compass. My compass. Identical. For a moment, I forgot how to breathe. “That… can’t be possible,” I whispered. Yet the truth pulsed through the bond, undeniable. The Hollow wasn’t simply born from imbalance. It had once been balance itself. The creature roared, its massive body writhing as silver, gold, and white light clashed against the darkness surrounding it. Cracks spread across its form, revealing flashes of the same radiant energy glowing within me.

The Hollow King’s shadows darkened violently. “You do not speak to her.” The eye ignored him completely. Its attention remained fixed on Eleanor. “The first vessel corrupted the bloodline through attachment.” Cold spread through Eleanor’s chest. First vessel. The Hollow King laughed bitterly. “There it is. Even now you cannot say my name.” The eye remained emotionless. “You ceased being what you were created to be.” The mountain shook harder. The Hollow King’s expression sharpened. “You mean I became capable of choice.” Silence followed. Terrible silence.

He laid her on the cold stone floor, brushing damp hair from her forehead. “You weren’t ready,” he muttered. “And yet… it chose you.” Raven stirred, voice hoarse. “It’s… inside me.” “Yes,” Malrik said grimly. “And now every creature tied to the gods will feel it.” Her eyes fluttered open, fear and fury tangled in them. “What am I?” Malrik’s jaw tightened. “The vessel. The Hollow Blade is not merely a weapon, it is a will and now it lives in you.”

The others wait behind me in breathless silence. I can feel their tension like a physical thing. Caelan is the only one who steps forward, positioning himself beside me without hesitation. His palm brushes mine, and the contact sends electricity up my arm. A shape begins to form from the ash and shadow. He’s taller than I remember from my dreams. Cloaked in bones that gleam like polished ivory, crowned with antlers that drip with silver moss like tears, the Hollow King emerges from the veil between worlds. His eyes are empty sockets that should hold nothing but darkness.

Albert sneakered, “Now, now. That's an unrefined attack. It was so slow. Did my Crimson Blade become rusty under that Benedict and Dark King's roof? White Crow was even overprotective of you.” “I'll Kill You! ” Zitrey only mumbled. With a vein suddenly burgeon her hand and in the forehead, White Crow suddenly flew sidewards and bumped strongly in the wall, when Zitrey aimed at her waist which she failed to block it. The Raven flew upwards away from them, yet rest on the roof watching.

I need to hurry. As I was barely on time, I was running towards the lift and suddenly I bumped into a hard wall. Wait... wall doesn't wear suits, do they? I just look upward, from seeing the suit and the material I felt, I can tell it must have worth a fortune and the logo on the pocket confirmed it for me. I slowly looked up and saw the greyest eyes I have ever seen in my life... They are staring at me with rage...'what have I done?' and who is this man with so beautiful grey eyes? I was staring and he was getting angrier. I should apologize before he turns into a grey hulk. So I quickly said what I can.
