a deep, smooth voice called out, drawing my attention. I turned to see Viktor Volkov, an associate from the Bratva in Russia, standing beside us with a glass of whiskey in hand. He was a tall, well-groomed man with sharp blue eyesand a reputation for being both charming and dangerous—a combination I wasn’t particularly fond of at the moment. “Volkov,” I greeted curtly, keeping my arm around Giselle’s waist. I didn’t care that I was acting extra possessive of her tonight as long as it kept the other men away from her.

He covers it up with a smile. “I thought I recognized you, Conan Hargreaves, right? I am, Gregory Orion. It will be a pleasure to work with you.” Greg’s voice is deep and cold in a threatening way I have never heard before. He drags out the word pleasure in a way that suggests the opposite. And did Victor lie about his name too? The tension between the two can be cut by a knife. I look between them, sensing something ominous under their pretentious smiles. I can see that Greg is holding onto Victor’s hand and that Victor is struggling to get it free.

Natasha turned to her desk mate; Carmen Vega, who at the moment seemed to be deeply engrossed in a book with a black cover and a white title - War & Peace . "So, are you going to sign up?" Carmen asked, her eyes still fixated on the book. "What? No! Of course not!" "Do you mind?" came another voice. "What?" Natasha responded, turning back to the kid who sat behind her. "Some of us here are trying to do something that actually matters, so would you keep it down!" It was Henry, the smartest kid in class with his annoying perfect English accent. Cassie was his desk mate as she got to her seat and began playing loud music through her headhones, making Henry direct his attention to her.

I’m Alpha Rowan.” His eyes widened, his mouth agape. “Rowan Hargrove? You are a werewolf?” He takes me in with genuine care and respect, “Hargroves are the longest existence of Werewolves in San Zero. I, myself believed it was a myth, I’m honored to meet you, Alpha,” He slightly bows. I waved him off, “Feel free, I’m in need of your help.” He chuckles sarcastically, “My help? I can’t possibly imagine why someone like me would be of help to you, Alpha.”

MATTEO RODRIGUEZ Matteo Rodriguez has just gotten back from his morning exercise. His body dripped of sweat and smelt of fresh leaves and of woods. He marched straight to the fridge and grabbed a sachet of packaged blood. He tore it open with one bite and gulped the whole content at a go. He wheezed out air and hissed noisily with a squeezed face. There was nothing better than drinking human blood.

Doctor Greg gave a half-shrug and ignored his questions, "Do you know why I'm telling you this little secret?" Trevor shook his head slightly and grimaced. "It's because it's not useful to you. You have a minute to live on earth. I wish to keep you Alive to complete my research, but the gravity of your sin is much, and I can't risk my relationship with the governor." Dr Greg pulled out his pistol and pointed it at Trevor. Trevor shut his eyes. He'd be dead soon, and Kira wouldn't be able to save him as planned. But he wasn't giving up. Despite the blurriness clouding his vision, he'd fight to the end, even if he died.

I don’t know who this person is, but he or she is pissing me off. Thankfully it is Friday, and I can be home for the next two days. I talked with Doug the day after our meeting and asked about a guard for Everly. He thought that was a good idea. He told me that he had the perfect guy and would call me back after talking with him. I am guessing that if this is one of his friends or a guy who works for him, he knows Everly and will agree without hesitation. The guy that Doug sent started yesterday. His name is Giovanni, or Gio for short. He and Everly seem to get along ok so far. I was concerned, considering he is only 25, but Doug told me that there is no one he trusts more than Gio.
