Virtuous Vows Book の小説・ストーリー

We promised to keep the inn’s doors open for anyone who needed it, and to keep being as loud as needed when people tried to strip kindness into commodities. When we got home the light had softened in the way that makes rooms feel like things you can fold. Marcus paused at the entrance to the nursery and looked at the little crib with something like reverence. “I’ve been thinking about vows,” he said. “Not the public ones—private ones. The ones I keep failing at and the ones I want to get good at.” “You owe me a vow about pancake distribution,” I said, because binding agreements are the only kind I can handle without dramatic paperwork.

“Daughter of Alpha Rowland of Moonlit Pack. I have come here in peace, and in peace I will remain. But I will not kneel. My loyalty belongs first to my father, to my blood, and to my people. If my sincerity must be measured, let it be by my actions, not by the bend of my knees.” The hall erupted. Gasps, sharp whispers, scandalized murmurs. The firelight seemed to crackle louder, as though the flames themselves had been shocked by my defiance. I held Harold’s gaze. “Instead, I’d declare the Healer’s Vow. Your oath binds the body, the healer’s vow binds the heart. It is recited standing, hands unshackled… so the speaker cannot be forced to promise what her spirit won’t keep. If you mean to wel

The priest opened his book, then lifted his gaze. His voice was calm. Deep. Echoing throughout the room. “Mr. Adrian… do you take Miss Livia as your wife,” he said slowly, “to live together in the sacred bond of marriage—to love her, to protect her, to honor her, in joy and in sorrow, in sickness and in health, and to remain faithful to her until death do you part?” A brief silence followed. All eyes were on Adrian. Without hesitation. Without pause. “Yes, I do.”

The Vows The priest began the rites in Latin, the ancient words echoing through the vaulted ceiling. Roman went through the motions, his voice a steady baritone, but his mind was reeling. He looked down at her, seeing the "elbow-length gloves" he had seen on the mannequin. He realized then that the Lombardis hadn't hidden her to protect her from the world. They had hidden her to protect the world from her. When it came time for her vows, she didn't look at the priest. She looked directly at Roman. Her voice was low, melodic, and held the same razor-sharp edge he had heard in the hallway the day before.

“Forsake your selfish endeavors! The covenant shall be made to the Coven, not to oneself! The Goddess. The Great Mother. A sacred vow that can never be broken.” The pages are delicate and thin. I carefully turn the page to see what wisdoms await me. A soft knock on the door snaps me out of my thoughts. I quickly hide the book as I hear the lock begin to turn.

Amor, the three priests and the priestess were standing in front of me behind the flames to be the witness of the vow, along with the pack public, the royal family, and the other nobility. “I will always use my powers to protect, preserve, and help ‘others’ and their rights. Others include my family, my pack, my husband, my friends, my people and anyone and everyone who is needy and weak. I will use none of my powers for my selfish needs, ego, or pride. Unless it’s for self defence. I will try my utmost to protect the weak, always respect my elders and never lose sight of the right path. I make this vow not just to you, but to myself as well.”

He took his blade, slicing my palm, and held my bleeding hand over the chalice, allowing my blood to mix in with the blood of the ministers behind me. “Do you vow to stand beside your pack, lead, and protect them when confronted by evil?” Minister Robert asked. “I swear to the goddess of the moon I do.” “Do you vow to carry yourself with honour, integrity, and respect?” “I swear to the goddess of the moon I do.” “Do you vow to be strong, courageous, and compassionate?” “I swear to the moon goddess I do.” “Do you vow to put your pack before your own needs, to love and cherish them, and lead them to greatness just like the alphas before you?”

"All involved with the ritual are doing well. " "That's good," Erys sighed. Kali could practically see his relief. "Indeed," Len agreed. "I must admit, Nyxie and the tigress are quite entertaining and smart," Salax grinned, making Erys chuckle. Out of nowhere, Kali quizzed them. "Can anyone tell me what the seven virtues are?" The three looked at each other and listed them off. Granted it was slow but they got them all right. Kindness, charity, patience, humility, diligence, chastity, and temperance. "Correct, And I will tell you something that only I know. Nyxie is one of them, so is Nia. Take your guesses." Kali listened as they guessed. Elysium guessed right on charity for Nyxie but they

The truth that took me three years of marriage to fully understand. I was not a person to him. I was a tool. "Malleable," I repeated, tasting the word. "Like clay. Or a dog." His smile sharpened. "Like a partner who understands her role." "And what role is that?" "To stand beside me. To enhance my image. To give me heirs and not ask questions." His hand came up, cupped my cheek with false tenderness. To anyone watching, it looked affectionate. But I felt the warning in his grip. "Can you do that, Aria?"

Arthur exhaled as he successfully recited the sacred vows without any mistakes. "I, Valerie Ashley, do now swear before God to take you, Arthur Davidson, to be my husband, to complete each other, in joy and sorrow, in health and sickness, with all the advantages and disadvantages. I will always love and honor you as a wife and will always be devoted throughout my life. I am willing to be a good mother and parent to the children that God will entrust to me." Valerie's tears continued to fall throughout her vows but Arthur's hand made her feel calmer.
