The city didn't crumble; it began to format. "Leo! Look at Elian!" Meilin screamed. Leo looked down. His son wasn't dissolving. He was being Revised. Elian’s gold armor was turning into a school uniform. The pulse-pistol was turning into a lunchbox. And then, the voice of the Senior Editor boomed: "CHAPTER 197: REJECTED. RE-WRITING FROM THE MOMENT OF THE DIVORCE. BUT THIS TIME... THE BILLIONAIRE HAS NO MONEY."

I just had to dedicate the time to explain that I wasn't their Alpha's wife. It was still hard to believe that I was alive. And now that I was staring at the mirror, clad in clean clothes, I was more than shocked. My hair was dark, and this one was blonde. These features were sharper. Bolder. I didn't have my brown eyes anymore. I was now staring back at blue frosty ones. My hands flew to my mouth immediately. I was shaking all over. “What is this?” I whispered. “Your second chance,” a voice in my head whispered. “You are now Alara.”

Here, you are Daphne Vasquez, daughter of Lord Alaric and Lady Erica Vasquez."

The first few pages were all snapshots of her mother. She looked very carefully. Every page she turned, her eyes would linger on her mother's gentle face for a long while. She did not look like Christopher at all but more like her mother. Kisa continued to flip the pages but froze when she saw the following photo of two people. It was a photo of her mother with a man whose eyebrows, eyes, and aura closely resembled someone.

If I didn’t know any better, I’d think he was beginning to miss more than just her cooking. He actually thinks he can win her back because he was her 'first love.' He doesn't see that Jade has changed. She’s got Zayn Hemsworth backing her now, and she looks at us like we're dirt from the trenches. I crawl off the bed, walking over to the mirror. I stare at my reflection, tracing the sharp line of my jaw. If Daniel can’t get the money through romance, then we have to take it through blood. There has to be a way to break her foundation. A signature. A forged transfer document. Or maybe... something more permanent.
