“She is a murderer!” Alpha Dan roared. “That bitch murdered my son!” I kept my eyes on the ground. It was safer that way. The entire hall felt like it was closing in on me, heavy with judgment. “Only fools resort to such unruly grammar.” The voice was calm. Controlled. Warm fingers slid under my chin and lifted my face. My breath caught. His touch was gentle, but my skin burned where he held me. When I met his eyes, the world narrowed to just us. “She’s from your pack?” he asked softly before tilting his head like he was making a decision “Then I’m changing the papers.
