The harsh sound was unmistakable—an intruder alarm. Instantly, the atmosphere shifted from carefree to tense. Kamila's heart raced as she recalled the alarm's purpose. It was a dire warning that unknown entities were approaching the pack borders. With over 300 wolves and their families to consider, the pack's safety was paramount. Leaders and warriors sprang into action, shouting orders and guiding everyone towards the underground safety bunker.

Done hiding. The White Wolf has risen.

It came to him that he was completely naked. Another kick, this one aimed at his upper back. “Wake up, asshole.” Wolf opened his eyes, saw a gray wall just a few feet in front of him. He blinked, and full sensation and consciousness rushed into his head, his body, his fingertips. He was one hundred percent awake and aware – and he was seriously fucking pissed off. Too pissed off to feel worry or fear, that was for sure.

Westbrook executives, our team, final details before the Monday market launch. I got there early and found Eli already in the conference room, setting up presentation materials. We looked at each other across the empty room. "Hi," he said. "Hi," I said. "You look terrible," he continued. "Like you haven't slept." "I haven't," I said. "Not much. I've been... processing." "Processing what?" Eli asked. "The reality that I'm about to commit to something I can't control," I said. "That admitting I need you doesn't mean I suddenly have all the answers about how to actually handle needing someone."

I catch myself staring at his body and immediately look at the floor. "I'm sorry for disturbing but I wanted to bring your towel." I say nervously and notice he just woke up. "Um... thanks." He says a little tired and grabs the towel. "I'm sorry for waking you up." I say shyly and mean it. "Nevermind. I may stay awake from now on till I get tired." He smiles to comfort me. Oh no, now I really feel bad.
