(AHVI'S POINT OF VIEW) I jerk awake with a startle and I jolt to a sitting position on the bed and place a hand over my loudly beating chest. Another nightmare. Just as the thought sinks in, I feel a tide of anxiety scurrying through my veins and settling comfortably. My heart beats faster, I feel my hands tremble and I feel sweat on my forehead. Where am I? I think to myself as I look around the room and then my brain gets doused with memories.

POV Noralyn When I wake up my heart is beating wildly inside my chest and I'm all sweaty. There's a strange noise coming from outside, like a repeated pounding and for a moment I think that I'm hallucinating or that it's simply the sound of my beating heart that has been magnified in my panic, until I realize that in fact there's someone knocking at my door.

“You’re going to stop resisting this connection. Just let it unfold, as it's meant to be.” That was the last coherent phrase I caught before everything blurred together, and my eyelids grew heavy, fluttering blissfully shut against my will. Suddenly, I was yanked back to consciousness, my heart racing as if I’d just completed an intense marathon through the woods. My bed felt like a swamp, drenched in sweat, and my pillow was practically soaked. It felt as if my heart were a wild creature trapped in a small cage, pounding against my ribcage, desperate to escape. I can hear my heart beat faster. What is going on?

“No!” I screamed as my eyes fluttered open frantically. My entire body was moist with sweat, my heart skipping beats, I was scared it was going to lead to a heart attack. Realising that it was just a horrible nightmare, I let out a sigh of relief, taking deep breaths in to calm down my racing heart. Slowly, the adrenaline spike got pumped out of my blood veins and eventually my heart rate came down to a normal pace. It was then that I became aware of my surroundings.

~Aurora. My hands worked mechanically through the files we had documented over the past few months, the never ending test results and the new blood and stool we've collected for more tests. I can't say for sure but, my blood has been pumping faster than usual since I woke up this morning and my heart has been racing a lot faster. I will tie you up and fuck you. Seven, eight, nine… A gasp escaped my lips as the memories from last night came flooding back. I was still in shock by his sudden actions, perhaps, that was why my body was reacting in such manner.

Kaden had just woken up from sleep because of the nightmare he had. A really bad one that made his heart race so fast and his chest constrict in fear. His breathing was loud and uneven, his body trembling with anxiety. He couldn’t even tell what exactly it was that was making him so uneasy.

I drift off, the gentle pull of sleep soothing my racing heart. But the peace doesn’t last long. I’m jolted awake by the sound of footsteps echoing in the room. My eyes fly open, heart racing. I squint into the dim room, straining to hear. I can’t make out the voices, but they’re there, low and conspiratorial. A chill runs down my spine as the footsteps draw closer, a creeping dread unfurling in my chest. I try to call out, to alert someone, but my voice is trapped in my throat.

"You're just giving me trouble!" A man jumped up from a deep sleep, when suddenly the nightmare returned to his sleep. The words seemed to be spinning around his head. Sweat clearly poured down the man's body, the roar of his breath sounded very loud and irregular, his heartbeat seemed to jump out, because it was beating so hard. The man's chest grew tight. "Argh !!" Shouted the man.

My heart was racing faster than the speed of light, my head banging deeper than a drumstick that comes in contact with the drum. I got to his room, pushed the door open, and walked into his room. I moved straight to his king-sized bed, the material which was always a means of comfort. Aided me in being uneasy, I rolled to and fro on the bed. I just couldn't find rest, it was impossible due to the growls and wails I was hearing a few meters away. "You have to be easy on yourself Mara. If not you are going to die of heart palpitation or high blood pressure," my wolf muttered.
