Running has become my habit. It grounds me, reminds me of monsters chasing me. My thoughts are erratic mess and so is my breathing when I step out the car. My unstable steps stumble me forward many times if it isn’t for the kind guard who stabilises me. I stand in front of our porch, catching my breath, steadying myself and press a shaky hand to my heart. Stop beating so loudly. Please, I can’t handle it. It’s too much. It’s confusing how my heart’s palpitations grow even stronger and out of beat as if it wants to escape through my chest and fall on the ground waiting for someone to step on it and crush it, so that it’d stop beating.

my heartbeat accelerated abnormally as I watched her fingers which were placed on his chest as they danced. "Fuck!" a low growl escaped my mouth as I threw my head to the back and rested it on my seat in both rage and frustration. frustrated because I couldn't understand this unfamiliar feeling inside my heart, this longing feeling to see her and this possessiveness that my heart screamed. I had asked my boys to send me pictures of her every seconds she spent in that party but my heartbeat hadn't stopped beating abnormally fast since a an hour ago when I was told that she had left the hall but hasn't been seen anywhere outside the building.

Lifting the covers up above my head, I closed my eyes. Just a couple more hours. I jerked awake, startled. My heart beats a mile a minute. Harsh thuds reverberate through the house. Or at least that's what it feels like to me. My head was beginning to pound as the sound of banging reached my ears. What is happening?

I wake up with a violent start, my chest heaving as my eyes snap open. For a second, I just lie there, disoriented and confused, trying to understand why my body feels so tense, why my heart is hammering like something terrible has happened… And then it hits me and my eyes widen as the connection I made yesterday before I fell asleep crashes over me like an avalanche. The moment it sinks in, I sit up so fast the room spins around me. “Fuck,” I whisper breathlessly as I throw the blankets off and climb out of bed.

I shrugged at that thought as I covered myself with my blanket. I groaned as I jolted up from my bed, my heart was racing really fast. I checked the alarm clock and it was just the middle of the night, 2:30a.m to be precise. I stood up as I tried to calm down my racing heart but then it was almost impossible to calm myself down. I poured a little vodka in my cup but in full rage, I had smashed the glass cup I was holding as my favorite vodka couldn’t help me regain calmness.

ZEPH Why do I feel my heart racing whenever he gets close? That probably is fear, right? My subconscious was probably remembering the things he did to me in my past life, and I always get scared whenever he's close. I didn't want to think of something else that might have caused that accelerated heartbeat. I rolled up from the bed, taking the blanket with me, only to slip and fall on the floor with a thud. Letting out a curse, I drew myself up and glared at the floor as if it were the cause.

My pulse still raced, my thoughts a blur. Why is my heart beating this fast? I thought, pressing a hand to my chest. What’s wrong with me?

Insistent. My heart lurched into my throat, pounding so hard I could hear it in my ears. The mug slipped slightly in my hand, and I tightened my grip just in time to keep it from shattering on the floor. My pulse raced, wild and chaotic, like my body already knew something my mind hadn’t caught up to yet. I froze.

Isayanna I wake up with a jolt, my heart pounding as I realize my hands are resting on Jaydon’s chest. My eyes widen in disbelief, and I yank my arms away like they have been burned. Scrambling out of bed, I clutch my chest, trying to calm the frantic thumping of my heart. The room feels too small, too quiet, and my mind races as I try to make sense of what just happened. What the hell?

Fear washes over me as it lunges toward me. “AARRGGHH!” I scream as I wake myself. Sitting up in bed I pinch my brow, another nightmare. My dreams have been erratic lately. I’m not sure why but it’s getting exhausting. I lay back down trying to calm my racing heartbeat. Beep beep beep and there’s my alarm. 7am, right on time.
