Breath Without Me

Breath Without Me

Walker said, shaking his head with a chuckle. “What about your parents? You never talk about them,” I said, then held my breath. I immediately hoped I hadn't asked something he wasn't ready to talk about yet. “My parents? They're still around,” Walker said with a light laugh. “They moved out to Colorado shortly after my father stepped—... Shortly after, my father passed our family's property over to me. He was done watching over everything here and wanted to move on. He signed everything over to me, and a year later, he swooped Mom up, and the two of them moved out west.

It wasn't a question. “No! No.” She shook her head, her brown bob flicking across her rounded cheeks. “He took my dad with him, and I overheard Dad telling Mum. The information they seek is about you, Scar, but not you as you are now.” I threw my hands up. “Great. That’s just perfect. Really helpful, that. Insightful, even.” “Scarlett, you’re not listening to me!” She closed the already too-small gap between us and grabbed my shoulders, shaking me hard.

Goodbye, my mate

Goodbye, my mate

I asked. Sak shook his head. "No, I first saw him in Skakel's backyard. He was just a child, maybe six or seven. Diego, Skakel's youngest son, was kind to him. But I had no idea what that old man would do to him later." "Are you a friend of the Skakels?" I questioned. "My father knew old man Skakel. They were business partners," Sak explained. "What kind of business?" I probed, frowning.

The Bad boy of Pine Creek: My biker lover

The Bad boy of Pine Creek: My biker lover

My dad was a psychopathic asshole who inherited all the worst Chadwick traits, but my uncle was a dangerous, overly-protective and adventurous in true non-Chadwick fashion. “Is Dad back?” I asked. Dad had left early this morning with Mr. Williams for some meetings. “Haven’t seen him around!” Uncle Bobby said, rising. He wrung out the wet towel he had been using to wash. Water splashed all over him. “Are you really going through with that wedding?” he asked me. I shrugged, kicking a small rock into the nearby flower hedges.

My Fabulous Girl Boss

My Fabulous Girl Boss

It was because Kayson did not look like an outwardly strong but an inwardly weak type of person. “Hold on, everyone!” Skyler gave the final word and pulled out his phone. Upon noticing the situation, the impudent young man frowned and said, “Are you really going to make the call, Skyler? Uncle Holden is very busy. You’re going to be scolded by him later for sure.” “It’s fine…” In truth, Skyler was a cautious, meticulous person because his family was not doing so well in Greenspring. Kayson stepped on Fabian and said, “Tell your father that I’m Kayson Yarde.”

Fr have been waiting for the next chapter for 2 months now hoping the author would have dropped a new episode this book is actually nice and the use of imagery was very nice and and makes the reader eager for what’s next

I love this book so far and I can’t stop reading it. In addition, it made me continuously unlock every chapter because the story isn’t dragging. Most of the time I skip few chapters because the story is predictable but not this book. The grammar is okay so it’s not disturbing to read.

Twins of Deceit

Twins of Deceit

That morning, I received a message from an old coworker. 'Scott found Ysabel,' she wrote. 'Turns out her new sugar daddy is her former department head. You should've seen them—everyone was shocked! She's really not picky. That man's old enough to be her father. 'Scott lost it and attacked him, but got beaten to the ground instead. Later that night, he followed her home, cornered her, and demanded to know where the baby was. They fought. He strangled her to death… then killed himself.'

My Dad, Sidelined at My Wedding

Carver, and longtime family friend Claire Carver. I read further down. There was no mention of Patrick Reed, my father. He was still crouched on the ground, wiping the corner of the chest, completely unaware that he'd been erased again. I reached over and took the program sheet from Elliott's hands. His expression went cold. "Sadie." I pointed to the blank space and asked him, "Where's my dad's name?"

I found my dad leaving the gym with a towel around his neck from his workout. “We need to talk.” “Do you mind if your old man showers first?” “I mind.” He sighed knowing this was THE talk. We entered the den and my father took his favorite reclining chair. I sat in the less comfortable Victorian loveseat. “Start at the beginning. Why the hell did you hire Senator Jacobs’ son?” “He’s the best. He went to military school, became a Marine, and then a cop. You needed the best.” I vaguely remembered my father complaining one time about Senator Jacobs’ stupidity for not pulling strings and getting his only child a plush military assignment during his enlistment. This wasn’t what I was after, thoug

He Stole My Heart

He was so absorbed in his conversation with the person on the phone that he had a huge smile written all over his handsome face. Rose Gravy waited for her daughter patiently to start the much important conversation, she hoped that it wasn’t something bad to do with her husband, she wouldn’t take it. But the next words that came from her mouth shocked her. “Mommy I have a proposal from Mr. Mark Scott, the famous Dad’s friend. He was here a while ago and left just before you two came back. Oh….Mommy I don’t know how to say this.” She finished and hesitated for a while.
