Yet we walk away, stealing short glances, as if she’d somehow throttle our necks from behind. “This is too easy,” I mutter. “I don’t like easy things.” “I don’t feel right.” Damon whispers. Me too. Ward C is cooler. The air bites through gloves now. Stainless steel everywhere. Drawers line the walls like filing cabinets for bodies. The burnt body lies on the table. Maybe his, maybe not. I grit my teeth, fighting the sting in my eyes, step closer. My nostrils flare from the stench. The damage is too severe. Skin blackened. Facial structure distorted. Chest charred.

Her breath hitches, her lips parting slightly, but I don't stop. "A person like you with no brain cells?" I scoff, letting my gaze sweep over her, deliberate and full of disgust. "Completely useless. You contribute nothing. Hell, the only difference between you and a zombie is that at least a zombie has a fucking excuse for being brain-dead." She flinches, her entire body trembling now. But still, she doesn't speak. Just stares down at the floor like some pathetic little thing waiting to be put out of her misery. Good. I got to her.

"Hardly! I've already contacted the Captain through our mental bond—he's sending men over as we speak." I grinned at the beta's efficiency. "You're truly an excellent beta; I hope your Alpha recognizes your worth," I complimented him. He beamed, clearly pleased by my words. Suddenly, my nose wrinkled, detecting the unmistakable stench of death. Where was it emanating from? The beta noticed too, his expression turning grim. "Day walkers," he whispered urgently. We tracked the foul odor to the old man's house, where we discovered a couple of Day Walking Vampires siphoning the lifeblood from the unfortunate elder.

But they had to hurry- it wouldn't take them long to figure out what or rather who was under the hood. The person in the center took one last look at the retreating figures of the werewolves and breathed a sigh of relief. It had been easy to distract the hycwens with a sudden appearance, yet the hycwens were a notorious breed known for their bloodlust, though they were a bit dim-witted. 20 feet above the ground, the hycwens' mouths continued to bicker, "Is it dead? I wanted to play with it a bit.." The person whirled around and stood on their feet in one swift move, discarding the hood.

The provocative tone irked Nathan, stirring a wave of frustration in his chest. Isabella smiled bitterly, the corner of her lips twitching. Theo was still a child. Did he really think Nathan would care about her corpse? In the werewolf - centered relationship and indifference, she knew Nathan's lack of concern. Had he ever treated her well in life? Why would he suddenly care about her after death? "Don't worry," Isabella said coldly. "Whether in life or death, my broken body will be yours to deal with. The old man whispered. When the zombies are approaching near Hannah, she can't stand, walk or run because she can't get out from her position. So, she holds her breath and she didn't move. She played as a dead person, not moving, not breathing the whole time. The zombie looked at her and smelled her. The zombie looked at her the closest it can.

He confirmed seeing Leo leave with my fellow Wolfmen meant my men were with him. I questioned the security guard further, and he mentioned hearing something about 13th Street near Baker Road. Following this lead, my men and I approached an empty road that led to a distant warehouse. The atmosphere grew increasingly eerie, and a distinct scent of blood filled the air. As we advanced, I discovered my men lying dead one by one along our path. Nearing the warehouse, I sensed a change in the attitude—a vampire's presence. Taking a defensive stance, I signaled my men to surround the building. Bravely, I entered the warehouse to find Leo bound to a chair and Eden seated across the room, greeting me

"So, this is what you truly think of me, Mother." Her words were still hanging in the air when I stepped from the shadows. "Mother, it's cold out at night. Why aren't you resting in your chambers?" My voice was not loud, but it landed on Vivienne like a bucket of ice water. She whipped around, her face turning white. "You... What are you doing here?" I glanced at the pried-open coffin, then at the acupuncture needles in Dr. Pemberton's hand, and finally let my gaze settle on the face inside the coffin. It was the face I had spent two lifetimes hating.

“They all look like they're sleeping. Just stay quiet.” “So what? We walk right past them?” I rolled my eyes, my sarcasm went unnoticed. “Yep, what's the worst that can happen?” There were better questions to ask but I feel like sassing him about his word choice wouldn't change the plan. We were going to be walking right next to sleeping zombies, praying that neither of us steps on a twig or bumps into one that we didn't see. “We could die!” I obnoxiously whispered

I muttered under my breath and turned away. I ran as fast as the wind could take me, grabbed a car from the parking lot and sped off to the Dead Wolf Pack. On getting so close to the Dead Wolf Pack, the gates where empty , without any gaurds in sight ,only a few blood stains on the floor , I turned off the car head lamp and drove through the pack as quietly as I could, observing tge surrounding with my impeccable wolf eyesight, suddenly I noticed someone in a distance running from a pack of zombies, I squeezed my eyes tightly for a more precise look ,it was Bella .
