“Don’t tell me they weren’t planning to kill us,” Timothy sneers, but the suddenly-overgrown yard stops crushing the werewolves into unconsciousness. It just holds them immobile.
I look round at the faces, Black’s side, and mine. Some shocked, some angry, some scared, some confused. Black’s on the ground. Unconscious, not dead, yet. He’ll probably recover, werewolves are tough. Black’s Second is curled in a ball, whimpering. I’m standing in a tiny but growing puddle of my own blood. I have no idea what to do next.
