Dan's eyes lit up at the mention of the profession, but Wally wasn't finished. "This is my lady Roxanne," Wally said proudly, and Ben nodded to the star-struck woman. Wally continued. "Ya know, you and your lady would probably be a huge hit at Wasteland Weekend. You could get all dressed up in leather straps, build some awesome post-apocalyptic vehicle or weapons and get all Road Warrior-like," Wally finished and saw everyone was staring at him.

I’ll use everything I have if need be, but I’ll live long enough to make sure he’s ready and strong enough. “What’s wrong?” Willow asks from the doorway. I don’t even open my eyes to look at her. Her scent already threatens to rob me of my sanity again, looking at her may just push me over the edge. “Take the book. Go to page one-hundred-and-sixty-three, and read the entry about the Ultima wolf.” I listen to her move around, the soft rustling of pages as she opens the book and starts reading. “What the hell is an Ultimate Alpha?” I smile when she goes quiet and a few minutes later says, “Oh. It’s you.”

She passed the cell where Wally was held three guards outside, his face pressed against the bars, smiling with cracked teeth. “Sleep well, Lady Vimon,” he crooned. She didn’t flinch. “You failed,” she said simply. “And tomorrow, we’ll make sure the realm knows what you tried to do.” But Wally’s smile only widened. “I didn’t fail,” he whispered. “I opened the door.” Her blood ran cold. She turned sharply, storming away before he could say more. Back in the Alpha’s private library, she gathered Kane, Aegon, Nico, and Ingrid. The room was quiet except for the crackling fire. All eyes were on her as she laid the book on the table, letting the faded pages reveal what none of them wanted to believ

“Do you, Yara Ellis, accept me, Warren Hill, as your Alpha?” he asks, slicing his hand. “I, Yara Ellis, accept you, Warren Hill, as my Alpha,” I say and he brings his hand to my face. I reach out and lick his blood, making the connection and sealing his wound. I feel the tether to Warren snap into place and unlike what I felt with Alpha Solomon, the power and strength of Warren as an Alpha is incredible.

My mom was clearly tired but happy still. I did not tell Dalia of these dreams because I couldn't trust her. I like to read,” I said, wanting to slap myself. Why couldn’t I be more outgoing? “That’s cool. I bet you like Heather Killian’s books huh? That’s what my sister is all into,” Ryan said, laughing. I grinned like an idiot. She was the most well known author of werewolf romance stories. I giggled. “Isn’t that the sweetest sound you’ve ever heard,” Ryan said.
