the one who seemed to be their leader stated. Duncan was confused. Who was this master of theirs? One rogue lunged at Erin, swiping her with his claws. She hissed, driving the four blades that stuck out of her knuckles into his stomach. Blood gushed out of his mouth. She pulled them out, and with a thud, his body fell to the ground. Erin grinned wickedly, wiggling her brows at the wolves. A wolf attacked Duncan, but he was nothing compared to the strength wielded by the Alpha in waiting.

Erin would die? ***

I love you too, Kitty Kat, I reply, hoping she heard me. I open my eyes again. Eric is fighting off Tyler and the other warriors one handed as he flings me around like a rag doll in his other hand. I close my eyes again. They feel so heavy. Goddess, I can’t wait to see Jeremy again. To inhale his rain forest scent. To be in his strong, sexy arms as the wrap around me and keep me safe. To hear his gruff, deep voice as he whispers sweet nothings in my ear or to hear his hefty laugh. I can’t wait to feel the sparks erupt across my skin where he touches me. His luscious, plump lips on mine and his wild, scruffy beard on my chin.

“Do you think a few broken chairs and shattered walls will make you a warrior? You’re weak, Darius. Always have been. You want to start a war? You wouldn’t last five minutes on the battlefield.” I could feel Hunter growling inside me, ready to lunge, ready to rip Augustin apart. But I held back. Not yet. Not like this. I wanted to take him down, but I couldn’t, not while he was still alpha. I had to wait for the right moment. But gods, I hated him. I hated him more than anyone.

One of his warriors opened the door for him as they took the dishes. "Lock it securely from the outside and double the guards. The Luna is a Lycan," I heard Hunter say. The warrior glanced at me and chuckled, but she's so tiny." I raised my hand and shifted it and the asshole swallowed uncomfortably. The door soon shut and I could hear all the locks clicking.

At that, something smashing into the side of me, knocking me off my paws. "Elias!" Erin, skids to a stop and bolts towards me, growls and barking at the attackers, warning them off and away from me. As I get back up on all fours, another wolf pouncers at me, planting my paws, ready for the impact, but Erin flys through the air, intercepting the lunging wolf, pinning it to the dirt and breaks its neck in her jaws. Side by side with Erin, now three enemy wolves surrounding us, with more on the way. We are so close to home, not even half a mile, we need reinforcements. Erin, like always is one step ahead of me, opens up a mind-link,

Then she stood over Emory, her dagger held high, ready to strike. “You may be fast, but you’re just a pup. I am the warrior here,” Kathleen challenged as she brandished her dagger. “I will show you the power of a true warrior.” “I am a hunter!” Emory roared. Her growl echoed through the trees and her eyes glowed brilliant green.

“Are you guys ready to finally do as we were formed to do?” My eyes glared at Callighan as he lifted his head up to the sky. Once that loud howl came from him, we all prepared ourselves as the wolves charged at us altogether. All we could do was fight to our hearts desire. One charged at me and right when I thought life was over for me, the gunshots came right after him. Pow! Pow! Pow! Pow! However, those shots were not enough… -To Be Continued- The End of Book 2

I would've smiled if fear hadn't gripped my heart, threatening to still the pounding thuds hammering in my ears. Henchmen was the Scorcher's name for the law enforcers that patrolled the perimeter of the walled Cities. Each town had their own legion and the scorchers hated them all, almost as much as the henchmen hated them.
