“You address me as Alpha.” “Thank you,” I said, glancing at him. Now was the moment of truth. There was a murmur from the warriors surrounding the werecats, and I looked to see a warrior edging his way in. He nervously glanced at the werecats as he scooted past them and jogged up the steps to whisper to Alpha Raymond.

“We could use your help.” Shadow smirked, a slow, dangerous curve of his lips that made my stomach twist. He leaned back in his chair, studying me. The silence stretched, heavy and suffocating, until he finally spoke. “You know what you’re asking, right?” His voice was low, almost a growl. “This isn’t some favor between friends. This is war. And if I step into this mess, throw my boys into a war with the Russians, it’s not for the Warriors… It’s for you.”

He stumbled backward, his claws releasing their grip on my shoulders. I took advantage of the distraction, using all my strength to push myself to my feet. I towered over the young warrior, my eyes blazing with fury. "You should have stayed out of this, pup," I snarled, my voice low and menacing. The young warrior looked up at me, his eyes filled with a mixture of fear and recognition. He knew that he was no match for me, not now that I had revealed my true identity. With a swift movement, I struck out at him, my claws slicing through the air with deadly precision. The young warrior tried to defend himself, but it was too late. My claws struck true, and he fell to the ground, defeated.

“I do not need a babysitter.” He smirks. “Good. Because I am not your babysitter.” His eyes drop to my stance. “I am your Alpha.” “And I am your problem.” He says nothing to that, but the look he gives me says too much. Three warriors step forward, eager, arrogant, ready to prove something. The tallest cracks his knuckles. “We heard you were… decent back then.” Marcus walks by and mutters at them, “You three better pray.” The first warrior lunges. I dodge easily and slam my elbow into his ribs. He drops to one knee. I sweep his legs. He hits the ground hard.
