The screams were deafening as were-cats burned and then convulsed before dying, the creatures swarming our fighters. “Tawny!” I turned to the voice, to see Mason “Let’s go!” He waved to me. I ran to his side. “Don’t touch those things! Kill them however you can, but for fuck's sake do not let them scratch or bite you!” I looked around for Crimson, watching for more of these creatures. They were sneaky and I couldn't smell their scents, but Crimson, he could mind-link all the warriors and tell them how they could be killed.

The cat growled and lunged at him again, teeth bared, but the warrior stepped aside with fluid precision. “Woah! I think that cat’s overdue for a nap.” He said with a chuckle, glancing towards Lyra and motioning to the attacking animal. The wild cat flailed, its sharp teeth gnashing at his wrist, but he didn’t flinch. With a grunt, he swung the creature to the side with a force that sent it tumbling into the wet grass. The wild cat’s body flickered like a mirage for a moment, but it recovered quickly, spinning around and launching itself at the warrior once more, its body a blur of twisted motion.

Leo called his top men from the Moonlight Warriors to help us, while leaving the second in command to train the rest of the warriors. We all rode to the river and parked at the small shed where most of the warriors get their clothing after running with their wolf. “Alpha,” a warrior I didn’t know greeted. “Anything new?” Leo asked, and the warrior shook his head. “Still the same Alpha, and the perimeter is safe,” he answered, and Leo nodded. “Are you guys ready?” Leo asked, and everyone else gave their nod. Leo turned to face me and said, “Lead the way, my Luna.”

Vee dropped one of her swords. Killian couldn’t wait any longer. He let go of the rope and launched himself towards the ground. As he fell, he shifted, the power rippled up his spine. He landed hard on all four and took off at a sprint just as Vee fell to her knees. The Werecat landed a hard blow to Vee’s head and she collapsed. The cat had its jaws just inches from Vee’s throat when Killian tackled the beast and they went rolling sideways. They were maw to maw as the warriors started raining down above them. The Shifters started to fall back as the warriors began cutting them down in huge swatches.

Elsie’s POV Five men were quickly chosen from the eager ranks of the new warriors, of which Gerald was surprisingly among. From my vantage point on the wooden benches, I could clearly see Commander Jasper pulling the six selected brawlers into a tight, hushed circle, whispering some final instructions to them. After some seconds of intense nodding, the men dispersed and eagerly entered the chalked boundaries of the circle. Some of the warriors aggressively took their shirts off, tossing them into the dirt before getting into low, defensive fighting stances, their teeth bared in anticipation.

Old Whitey hissed twice at the big lake, turned around and walked back. Its white cat fur was stained with a lot of dust. The fiery red armor was majestic, highlighting Old Whitey’s unique identity. When it turned around and saw Alex and Luna’s state and posture, the green cat eyes blinked to lift the transformation state. Even the armor had retracted into its body. It had returned to the state of a harmless little white cat. “Could it be that the lair of the Skeleton Legion is under the lake?” Luna tidied up her clothes. The disciple’s outfit from the Floral Valley was surely convenient for certain things as the skirt was underneath it!

Cornelius laughed in happiness as he squeezed Amelia’s heart and threw it on the ground. “You may have won the battle, Arthur, but you lost the war,” he said and those were the last words he said before the lycan pounced on him and tore him to pieces. After it was done with Cornelius, it turned and faced the warriors. The lycan roared in anger and this brought all the lycans to their knees as they felt the supreme lycan’s anger.

Dee-Dee said with a laugh. Slowly Leila started to stand up. She didn’t want to upset the creature on her back. Eventually he chattered, and got down. As she moved around the room, looking over the kittens, the raccoon followed her, and sniffed every kitten she did. She was startled when he suddenly ran past her quickly. She glanced to where he went, then went back to sniffing a larger black kitten. The two were looking at each other curiously when the raccoon came back carrying a tiny kitten in his mouth. It had blue eyes. Was white with black, and orange spots. The raccoon pushed away the black kitten, and dropped the spotted kitten right in front of Leila, looking proud of itself.

I pressed myself into his embrace, hoping Leopold could transmit some of his warmth to me. “Do you want to go home?” he asks. I shook my head. “I have to replace Renesmee to take Dickypuss to the clinic.” Leopold looked at me with amusement in his eyes. “Pussy.” “My cat.” “I know.” He laughed. “How about another pussy?” I pinched him in the ribs, making Leopold giggle. “My pussy?” I whispered. Deliberately, I licked his ear, making Leopold stifle a sigh.

At least he smiled a little after that. The tension eased slightly. But only slightly. "The pendant stays here." Lila studied him carefully. "Then how do I earn it?" The question surprised them. Eventually the oldest warrior spoke. "There is a cave above the eastern cliffs." Lila listened carefully. "Inside lives a mountain cat that's been attacking our hunters for weeks. Kill it."
