“Are you guys ready to finally do as we were formed to do?” My eyes glared at Callighan as he lifted his head up to the sky. Once that loud howl came from him, we all prepared ourselves as the wolves charged at us altogether. All we could do was fight to our hearts desire. I shouted. My warriors, dozen of them, cloaked in gray and black, materialized through the smoke, some shifting into their wolf forms, others welding weapons. They didn’t hesitate. We fell into formation like we’d done a hundred times before. It wasn’t the way rogues fought. It was honed and disciplined like pack strategy. Somewhere behind me, I heard an Alpha curse under his breath. The enemy came in waves and at some point, I lost count of how many I cut down. Every movement flowed like something ancient waking inside me.

Killian looked over his shoulder and then turned back to the table. “That is one of our young warriors,” he said softly. I couldn’t help the look of confusion that crossed my face. “What is a warrior doing fetching chairs?” “We have a strict policy here: All warriors must learn to serve, as well as fight. They must learn to appreciate what goes into keeping a camp and compound running. I firmly believe that every warrior needs to know that the people who clean the mess hall, serve their food, and keep a fire in the hearth are just as important – if not more so – than the warriors themselves.”

“On the count of three.” I reached for the sword Kael had given me and slowly drew it from its sheath. “One.” The warriors facing me lowered themselves into combat stances. “Two.” I tightened my grip around the hilt and raised my sword as the five warriors charged. “Three! Fight!” The first warrior swung at my head, I ducked beneath the blade. Before he could recover, I pivoted on my heel and struck the side of his armor with the flat of my sword, the impact sent him stumbling backward.

He explained the customs in detail, confirming what I’d read in that werewolf book. “Mhm, interesting. I read something about that in the werewolf book.” I nodded. “Werewolf book?” He frowned slightly. “Yeah. James’s mom gave me this children’s book—it’s like a Werewolf World 101. I’m taking baby steps to get to know your world and your ways.” I said, half-sarcastic, half-aware of how much of an uneducated outsider I really was. “Anyway, back to the topic of your approachability. Based on what you’ve told me, the only werewolves who actually see and interact with you daily are the lead warriors and high-ranking members. How is that approachable?”

After memorizing it, we are required to move on to the list of books that can strengthen us. Instead of saying all that, I answer him with a, “I am learning a lot as a warrior.” “No issues with the other warriors?” “None.” Although there is. A couple of warriors are glaring at me. One even whispers that their training has become harder since I come into the practice grounds, courtesy of General Brandon. Only whispered, because they think I still have the King’s favor. They also whispered that my win against the three snake monsters is a fluke. They also don’t know that I am a werewolf and can hear what they are whispering about.

She said, trailing off in her thoughts. “Josh was just like my father. When he got angry, he would slap me. Thought that it was just me. I deserved it. I was trained to just accept it. But then I found Veda. She kept trying to get me to run. She said it wasn’t right.” She said as tears began to drip down her face. I looked at the front seat and saw my brother tense as he had been listening in. But his computer was on and recording everything. Even his growls went unnoticed by Athea. All the warriors in the vehicle also got quiet and low growls could be heard throughout the vehicle.

He revealed. "Hmmmm!" I hummed. The Iron Claw Warriors were the sword of the werewolf kingdom. They were the werewolf king's army and they were usually led by warrior leaders. The Iron Claw Warriors were to directly participate in the war and Erbot was also a warrior and one of the four leaders of the Iron Claw Warriors.

Shadow sliced his palm, adding it to the mixture in the chalice, and his deep voice carried over the entire pack as he recited the Howling Warriors creed. "A Howling warrior is strong when they need to be, gentle when they choose to be, and ruthless when they have to be. We will not cower, nor hide behind each other in times of crisis, we stand tall against our enemies, together we are the Howling Warriors, and together we are strong."

Ross may be a skilled warrior, but as an illegitimate child, he'll never be the Gamma of this pack. I took a deep breath, composing myself. "Is everything ready?" I asked, my voice firm. The warriors nodded in unison. I gave them a stern look. "Good. Remember, rule number one: show no mercy. Don't spare anyone." "Yes, Alpha!" they chorused, their voices echoing through the room. I donned my warrior attire, a sleek black leather tunic adorned with intricate silver embroidery, representing our pack's emblem. As I emerged, the warriors erupted into a chant, their voices thundering in unison: "All hail Lord Richard! All hail Lord Richard!"
