**This book is a prequel to the Guardians Trilogy. However, while it starts before the first book in the Trilogy and can be read as a stand alone, it will span the timeframe of both Books 1 and 2. This book will contain spoilers and references discussed in the other books. It is recommended that you first read Book 1, The Broken Warrior’s Daughter, and Book 2, Alpha’s Guardian Angel before reading this book.

Serena's POV Ten years later. Silver City. I stood by the floor-to-ceiling window in my top-floor office at The Claws headquarters, looking down at the city that never slept. The neon lights below flickered like stars scattered across the night. "Ms. Serena, congratulations on winning 'Security Strategist of the Year' again," my assistant, Maya, walked in, holding a heavy invitation. "That's the fifth time." The fifth time. In ten years, I’d gone from a heartbroken girl to a legend in the world of werewolf security.

Taking his hand, he gently helped her to her feet just as Cal arrived back with Liam's cloak and a few satchels. "As I said before, Caliana Raine, will be this years Hunter Apprentice. If they have a problem with it, they will answer to me." Caliana was too shocked to respond as Liam draped his cloak over her shoulder, guiding her back to the group of Hunters waiting with their horses.

The clearing was ringed with spectators — warriors in hunting gear, civilians on the observation benches, representatives from a dozen allied Packs standing in loose formation.
